So today, on the way home from a very long day at work, the drive belt on my bike decided to snap while I was in the center lane of the 405. For those of you that don't know, the drive belt on a bike is what makes the rear tire move. So I stopped. I thought I had just stalled, but it was quite dead, in medium traffic on the 405. I was just about ready to say my last rites, right there. Luckily the person behind me slowed down to a stop and motioned for me to go ahead and manuever my bike into the service lane while he blocked traffic with his vehicle. Yay for the rare existance of good samaritans.
Once I was off the freeway, I called my dad to ask for a pickup (he has a motorcycle trailer). As soon as I hung up the phone, a CHP cruiser magically apeared behind me. I almost fainted. Not only have my tags been expired since '05 but I'm driving on an expired permit. Luckily, he didn't ask to see my license, and called a tow truck instead which cost me $140 bones.
Oh yeah, and since this is christmas weekend, I'll be out of transportation for at least a week. WORST DAY EVAR.
