Huh, I can barely recognize
Semagic, LJ client, but it's been something like 6-7 years since last used it as I've been using Logjam on Linux. But hey, good news for you guys! Semagic should have a working spell checker. :p (Somehow I never manged to get it working on Logjam.) Winamp still looks the same as ever. Thanks for the recommendations people. ^^
And man that I love my new big screen. It looks even better now that I moved it to my computer desk. And guess what? I hooked my two computers to it as it has this function where you can switch between different sources by pushing this button at the bottom of the screen. So I can basically have two computers running and switch between them on the screen from that button. Too bad that the same can't be said of the keyboard and mouse so I've got two of each of those on my desk, but it's all right as there's plenty of space. I could probably fit a third keyboard in front of my screen, if I wanted. I'm not planning on using this kind of setup in the long term. What would be the point? I guess that you might get something like this, if you took the word "dual-boot" literally. xp I just hooked both of the computers up like this because I thought that it was funny. This screen would be handy for setting up a computer and for example a PS2 to using the same screen.
I'm still dealing with the loud computer fan. I got as far as to figure out that I need an adapter so that I can hook up a 3- or 4-pin fan to the power source. Or a new fan that I could hook up straight to the power source. Don't ever get a Dell computer unless you're prepared to chunk it when something in it stops working or you'd want to upgrade the hardware. The last time that I was at Verkkokauppa.com (looking for that computer fan) I was thinking about what loyal customers we've been. We've been buying our computers from there since 2001 (except for these Dell machines that we've gotten used from mom's work). It was such a geek shop at the beginning. You'd place your order online and then go to pick it up at Nihtisilta, Espoo from this small room. There wasn't anything for sale at the location. From there Verkkokauppa.com moved to Olari (still in Espoo) where they actually had stuff on the shelves for sale, besides the online service. From there they moved to Ruoholahti, Helsinki and they went more mainstream when they got more space, but they're still specializing in computers. Next they're going to move to this building that's being built to Jätkäsaari, Helsinki, and probably get even more store space. They also now have stores at other cities but I've never been to those.I have one pretty good argument for joining the
capital area cities - Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen- to one big city (there's been debate on the issue for years). My mom broke her wrist a couple of months ago. She's got the cast off by now. The accident happened while she was in Helsinki so she went to the nearest emergency hospital (päivystys), but there they said that she needed to go to Espoo since she lives in Espoo and they refused to treat her at Helsinki. So she went to Espoo to get her broken wrist treated. Idiotic bureaucracy at it's worst. It's only a matter of time before the capital area will be one big city. It might take some decades, but it will happen. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole issue. The current system has it's problems as does combining the cities into one that houses a million people. And I've always lived in Espoo. I'm not thrilled at the prospect of being forced to change my identity to that of living in Helsinki.Oh man, how I love fandom.
