Today has been a bit weird. I once again got a flu now that the temperature went over +30 C. This is now the third time that I've gotten a flu during a heat wave this Summer. Apparently heat just doesn't sit well with my body. The heat would be quite uncomfortable enough without the added joy of being sick as well. But this being the third time, I'm starting to get used to it.Mom helped me today to paint the sailing boat. We started yesterday and finished today. I feel bad for the people who've had outdoor jobs this Summer. It wasn't much fun to be painting outside in this heat. We headed to the beach afterwards to cool off and the trip there was eventful. First we witnessed a firetruck hit a car at a crossroads. Nobody seemed to get hurt but at least the car got a bit dented. The car had the green light, but he must've not seen the firetruck who was driving with the flashing lights. There was this young guy driving the car. Maybe he had just gotten his licence (which happens when you turn 18 in Finland) and now he had been in accident and smashed daddy's car. He was having a nervour breakdown in the middle of the crossroads, but seemed physically unhurt. The firetruck stopped there and blocked the road that we were going to take so we took a turn and used another route.
About five minutes after this we came across a commotion at a bus stop where cars were slowing down. There was a man sitting there whose head and clothes were all bloody. There were already people there who had stopped and they indicated that we should just continue on our way so we didn't stay to look what had happened. My guess is that he had been in a bicycle accident as there were no cars stopped there, unless it was a hit and run, I dunno.
Eventually we arrived at the beach without further incident. That was quite enough excitement for one day. I should probably head to bed now so that I get enough rest, with having a flu and everything.
