Do you know how sometimes food tastes so good that it's hard to believe? Just now I ate a couple of simple sandwitches, and the barley bread slices tasted unbelievably good. The simple outlook of the bread when I was cutting it didn't prepare me for it to taste so good. It was fresh and soft, yet had good structure. It was like the taste just melted on my tongue. I'm starting to sound like Yakitate Japan here... but it really was just so good. Perfect.
On some rare occasions I eat something, which is off the scales, because it's just so good. On rare occasions I even manage to cook or bake something like that myself. I'm a perfectionist so it's an accomplishment when I feel like the dish doesn't need to be improved in any way, that it's perfect as it is. That happens maybe once or twice a year, and you should have some idea how much I cook and bake in a year. Last Autumn I managed to cook mushroom soup out of suppilovahvero (my dictionary gives four different translations for that), which fell into that rare category that it was perfect as it was.
Is there such a thing as food heaven? Do you people get what I'm talking about in this entry? Have you eaten such foods?
I also have food items that I enjoy well above any other food items for their taste or texture. But they're like treats. I don't eat them all the time so that I don't get tired of them, just a little every once in a while. :p
I didn't always use to be so passionate about food. It's something that's developed over the years. I've also noticed that I like to talk about food, cooking and baking with people, but I talk about those things a lot less than I think about them.
Maybe I'm a sensual person when I can be so passionate about things like food and music. And these are definitely the perks of being a highly sensitive person. :pCurrent music is awesome. Porcupine Tree has many awesome songs.
