Photo poll and a original story recommendation
I went to Nuuksio's national park yesterday with MM. The weather couldn't have been better. We even went swimming in the Haukkalampi pond, which had surprisingly warm water (read: you could actually swim in it without screaming about it being too cold). MM hurt her knee a little so this time we didn't go hiking, we just relaxed by the lake. Just laying down on the wooden dock in the sunshine surrounded by water and forest, and dipping our hands or toes in the cool water. Heaven on earth, seriously.My free time has been consumed by this original story for the past 3-4 days. I've been completely hooked. And since this isn't a fanfic I thought that I'd recommend it here. :p It's basically like a book (not published) which the author has put online for people to read free of charge.

Reason: Kyven Steelhammer is doing his apprenticeship in a crystal cutter's shop in a small out of the way town. He can see spirits and when he tells this secret to someone else for the first time, his life is turned up side down. Before long he's fleeing for his life.
Writing these sort of teaser summaries is difficult so that's all you're getting. The book is set in a fantasy world, which actually takes place somewhere in the future, but after something catastrophic has wiped out the human civilization as we know it. Sennadar's world is pretty well built and interesting. I especially enjoyed the arcan race and their culture. The arcans are basically humanoid animals, that the humans have enslaved. I wouldn't call them furries because that gives you the wrong idea.
(I'd recommend just downloading the doc files from Sennadar's forum, because they're easier to read that way and the other site doesn't have the latest chapters uploaded.)
I haven't read Shadow walker yet, but I intend to start reading it as soon as possible. Spirit Walker ended with a bit of a cliffhanger. Sennadar is writing Shadow Walker right now (last updated in June the 8th).I tried to install Sims 3 on my computer this week with PlayOnLinux. (I've been playing it on Nydi's computer when she's not been using her comp.) I managed to install it after what felt like hours and when I tried to play it I get an error saying:
Unable to start game
Device 0 cannot run this title.
Your video card does not appear to support at least Shade Model 2.
Please upgrade your card.
My computer is too old and slow. ;_; But apparently I could play Sims 3 on my Ubuntu, if my computer was faster. Life's just not fair. I need a better computer.I've been taking so many photos lately that I'm in real trouble trying to decide what to upload and what you people might enjoy seeing, so I thought to make a poll. I think that I should clarify the poll a bit. With "Sight-seeingly photos from Helsinki (or Espoo)" I'm referring to photos of well known places like famous churches or other sites. They overlap with "scenery" a bit.
