After a year of scrambling for work; desperately trying to raise my self-esteem as an actor, I was named a best-supporting actor by a local critic's blog for a show I did & I'm contracted back in theme park world!
(For you out there unaware of the import of THAT - well the largest 2 Equity theatres in my area closed last year & I had to leave the union to get theatre work. Also, no health benefits!)
I am planning on going to a doctor every single day I'm off this year to make up for it. I plan on getting prostate exams & pre-natal exams: no, I don't have a prostate or am planning to get pregnant, What's your point?
I do, however, feel very unhappy for so many of my fellow actors who lost their contracts during the annual purge. It sucks on a yearly basis.
