You just have to love the media. A very distorted version of this story is on CNN, the real facts can be found on the Lewiston Tribune's (an industrial city about 30 miles south of Moscow). CNN is obviously pushing a political agenda. None the less this is a rather unpleasant situation. It apears to me the gun man was trying to kill a the wounded civilian (likely a witness) and the Latah Sheriff's Office and MPD just happened to get in the way.

The complacence of civilians does disturb me. Moscow is a nice place to live, but you are fools if you think that violent men will not find you and do you harm. I do advise that no one tries breaking into my house in the middle of the night, I will shoot you.
