Oy, here's something to wake up to. So I get up at a liesurely 9AM, do the usual stuff, hit the latrine, putter around and fix myself food, power up the compy and check my email. Guess what the first thing I see is?
"Assistance to UK Military Police Investigation"
Seems some Warrant Officer Class One is investigating a british soldier under suspicion of stealing a number of items from Her Majesty's arms rooms and selling them on eBay. I purchased several items under good faith from this seller like a number of other individuals. The investigator is most interested in the serials off a 4x SUSAT rifle scope as it is the highest dollar valued item (ie about $600 USD). I did bid on said item but I think it got pulled from auction before I won it last summer. I would love to have it but I guess its a good thing I didn't. Still I did buy about £275.00 (that around $550.00 US) worth of army related stuff from the seller. With around £125 more invested in related stuff. The Warrant says that since I'm in the states they aren't in a possition to take the items as formal evidence at the moment. None the less I'm not keeping possesion of hot goods stolen from an allied nation in a time of war unless they send me written authorization to do so! They can have the crap for evidence all they want, I just pray the reimburst me for more than the cost of shipping.
Don't miind me, I'll just be in the corner wearing kevlar and chewing my claws off until the RMP's Special Investigation Office in Aldershot opens again which I'm guessing will be around Midnight tonight or on monday.
