so i was cruising Yahoo! Tech, because i am that much of a nerd, and came across this story:
God hates Twitter needless to say, it involved Twitter, i was interested. the article states that the Catholic churches of Scotland have written a letter (from the president of their communications group) that speaks out against the "obsessive" use of Twitter, Facebook, LJ, MySpace, etc. the letter that was written was quoted in the article as saying "we should avoid an obsessive need for virtual connectedness and develop primary human relationships, pursuing true friendship with real people." the article also mentions that the church(es) feel internet friendships are inadequate substitutes for those IRL.
let me just tell you something. without my use of the internet, no matter how "obsessive" my usage might get, i never would have met the most important person in my life, nor his amazing family and friends.
