ahoy indeed. kerry won cleveland by more than the 200K they predicted he would need to carry the state, we just couldnt make up for the bible thumping south. i want to know who the mad genuis is that tacked the gay marriage ban onto this ballot. the born agains came out of the hills in swarms. young voters did not. columbus, which leans republican, but split in 2000, went to kerry by almost 50K. cincinnati, which is heavily republican, only went to bush by small margin. toledo, akron, youngstown, lorain and dayton probably banked close to 300K for kerry. thats the difference 1 issue had to spur the unholy rural turnout.

ps joel: i stole this from another blog, it reminded me of what i said to my dad this morning while we were watching which states went to whom: "the whole norhteast went kerry. can we secede?"

does the axis of evil have a fax machine? here's a memo for them:

Ken just had a good suggestion -- if there are terrorists trying to decide which area of the country to attack, could they please go by the election map? Because there are some of us who didn't want the current dumbass in office and that's totally made apparent by the blue sections of the map.

In all seriousness, it does strike me as odd that the people who say they voted for Bush because he's tough on terrorism come from areas of the country that aren't exactly targets. Like Utah. Or Nebraska. If you notice, all the states directly affected by 9/11 went away from Mr. Tough as Nails. Shouldn't that be like a sign or something?
