Settling in all right, Ms. Tyler? I'm afraid we haven't had much luck contacting the Inner City people. I know they have access to the network, but it seems that they just don't want to talk.

Not that I really blame them, considering this entire affair is their fault.

More or less, yeah. Unohana's been nice enough to tolerate me invading a room here at her nice clinic. S'not bad. Better than having to pay rent, I suppose.

Yeah, seems a bit like a guilty-conscious sort of thing, all that hiding. But maybe if I ask nicely?

She's quite something, isn't she? Sometimes I regret moving away, even to a building nearby.

You know, I'm not sure that's been tried, most everyone here being either quite angry or too happy where they are to try to rock the boat. You never lose anything by asking nicely.

She's a lovely woman, yeah.

I can imagine why. But s'not like they're threatening us for asking questions or anything, so it can't hurt.

Do you plan on actually going up to the gate? Since I don't think the network would work, it's much too easy to ignore.

All else fails, might just have to. Pretty sure that'd get their attention at least. But I think it's still probably polite to call first, as it were.

Let's hope you get lucky, then. I'm sure there must be someone in there who realizes that everyone can gain much more from cooperation than from this standoff we have right now.

If you do go, though - be sure not to go alone? Too many people here are far too eager to do things alone.

Hopefully. though, unfortunately, if there is somebody in there willing to work with us, there's no guarantee they're at all in charge of making those kind of decisions.

Yeah, that'd be a bad idea, I think. Especially since my phones seem to be the only equipment that made the jump with me. I've seen what happens when you go out there alone, I'm in no hurry to get myself hurt just yet.

Yes, that's always the problem, when the people with the good ideas aren't the people with the papers. Or the guns. But reasonable voices tend to be heard sooner or later, at least in my experience.

That's very good to hear. I don't know why anyone would - but they still do.

Sometimes. Sometimes too late though. And then everybody gets into terrible messes--a bit like this one, I guess--all because they didn't listen to the paperpushers and lackeys. Oh well.

Well, to be fair, I've... found some interesting adventures before, wandering off on my own. Always trouble I got back out of again though.

You can't change people, I'm afraid. It's not their fault really...

Wandering off doesn't necessarily mean wandering off alone.

True. But, then, sometimes the right people get heard before things go all to hell. Not often, but sometimes.

Very true. Or without a means of taking care of yourself, at that.
