Title: A Dangerous Mind
Pairing: Xander/Remus (Buffy/Harry Potter)
Rating: PG
Band: Within Temptation
Words: 416
Lyrics: I'm searching for answers
'cause something is not right.
I follow the signs,
I'm close to the fire.

He could feel the stretch and pull of the being within him. Xander blinked open his eyes, letting out a grunt of frustration. He couldn’t seem to quiet his mind, to blank out everything in order to meditate. The man across from him watched with a gentle expression, patient and caring.

“I can’t do this,” Xander said, rubbing at one temple.

Amber eyes warmed to him and the man chuckled. “You’re the one that insisted it was still there, buried underneath layers of denial. That’s why Mr. Giles sent for me, to help you come to terms with what you may be.”

“But…shouldn’t I be encouraging it to stay hidden?” Xander asked, finally meeting Remus’ eyes. Remus reached out a slightly scarred hand, letting it rest on Xander’s shoulder. It heated Xander’s already warm skin.

“If this hyena of yours breaks free, then I do not know what the ramifications would be,” Remus informed him.

He let out a breath and closed his eyes once more. He could feel Remus lean closer and fought the urge to crack open an eye, to see his face up close. Remus’ hand slid off of his shoulder. His thoughts scattered and, following Remus’ guiding, he let them. Instead, he focused on creating an inner calm, a place that wasn’t affected by the outside world.

He could feel the hyena, the vague traces of her anger, dominance, and desire. A shudder ran through him as he drew close to it, unable to stop the strange lure she cast out.

“Xander,” Remus’ soft voice called out.

His eyes fluttered, but he didn’t want to leave her there. Not yet. Not alone.

“Xander!”

Hands grabbed his shoulders and shook him. He sucked in a sharp breath, eyes opening to stare at Remus. “What?”

“You were losing yourself,” Remus replied.

“I could feel her,” Xander whispered. “I could feel what she was feeling.”

“So I suspected.” Remus cleared his throat and blushed. “You were setting off a great deal of pheromones.”

“I was?”

“Yes,” Remus replied in a rough voice. He cleared his throat once more and looked away. Xander felt himself begin to smile.

“Let’s do something about that,” Xander said, leaning closer. Remus’ eyes narrowed, but he didn’t move away as Xander drew close. Xander could feel the creature within him rumble with approval as Xander cupped Remus’ jaw, tongue darting out to taste the other man’s lips. Remus made a sound in the back of his throat and Xander smiled.

Title: The Leaving Song
Pairing: Gen, Xander
Rating: G
Band: AFI
Words: 244
Lyrics: Walked away, heard them say
"Poison hearts will never change, walk away again"
Turned away in disgrace
Felt the chill upon my face cooling from within

His eye was focused on a single crack in the ground, as it wound its way in a loop, before descending over the edge and into the crater below. He took a step closer, peering over the edge into the place he used to call home. So many cracks, so many lost lives.

Thoughts raced. Could he have done something? Could he have made a bigger effort? Was this somehow, in the end, his fault?

Maybe he should have let Buffy die the first time around and the First Evil never would have gotten a foot through the metaphorical door.

His eye burned and he turned, heading toward the bus, a chill radiating within him. He had actually thought that, he had actually considered…Breath. He just needed to breath. Ignore the others, they’ll be fine. They won’t notice him breaking apart from the inside.

He leaned against the back of the bus, arms crossed. He wanted to say he had regrets, that he wished he could have done something to make everything better. But a part of him was glad the town was dead. Let it fall apart, let it turn into nothing but broken shards of cement, decimated into dust.

That’s all that Sunnydale should have been from the start. That’s all he should have been. Because then he would have to admit to feeling fear for his future or fear of the world outside a small town. He’d give anything for that.

Title: When the Day Met the Night
Pairing: Xander/Spike
Rating: PG
Band: Panic at the Disco
Words: 453
Lyrics: When the moon fell in love with the sun
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night

“Spike?” Xander whispered, kneeling down on the dirty ground, ignoring the slime that would no doubt stain his knee. He bit his lip and reached out, hand settling on the back of Spike’s head, where blood was lazily trickling from a sound. “Spike.”

A soft groan alerted Xander to the fact that Spike was at least semi-conscious. He sighed and settled back on his haunches, trying to decide what to do next.

“Fuck,” Spike cursed, slowly rolling over and blinking up at Xander. His blue eyes looked wide and glazed over. “Humans. What a lovely bunch of creatures.”

“Do you need help standing?” Xander asked.

“Nah, I’ve got it, pet.”

“I’ve told you to stop calling me that,” Xander muttered distantly as he looked up at the sky. It was already starting to lighten, which made Xander wonder how long Spike had been lying in the alleyway before Xander happened to walk past on the way home from patrolling.

“But it annoys you. That’s the best part,” Spike replied.

“Look, let me walk you home. It’s nearly daylight and I don’t want you to pass out on the way,” he insisted, taking Spike’s arm and urging him toward the mouth of the alley.

“Didn’t know you cared,” Spike commented.

“I don’t.” Xander paused, eyes darting over to the vampire. “Much, anyway.”

They walked at a steady pace. It was obvious that Spike had been leaving Willy’s when the humans had ambushed him. If that’s what had happened. Xander figured it had to have been at least two guys to attack Spike, otherwise Spike would have beaten the other one off, chip be damned.

Spike stumbled and blinked up at Xander. “Sorry.”

“Sheesh, what actually happened?” Xander asked as they entered the cemetery.

“Won some money playing kitten poker,” Spike replied. “Got a few blocks down the road and a couple of bastards decide to mug me.”

“You have the worst luck,” he said. He let go over Spike’s arm and took a step back. “Well, here we are. Safe and sound.”

“Like I said, pet, I didn’t know you cared.” Spike smirked at him, dried blood standing out on his temple. Xander swallowed and managed to not reply. Spike glanced up at the sky, where a golden hue was beginning to take over. He then stepped closer to Xander. “Come inside. Let’s spend some time together.”

“Umm.” Xander backed into the crypt wall, eyes darting around. “I don’t-“

“Yes, you do,” Spike said in a low voice. Spike body pressed in close to Xander’s as he reached past Xander to shove the door open. Xander sucked in a sharp breath. Spike’s lips brushed Xander’s jaw, barely brushing his flesh. “Now, come inside.”

Title: Beauty From Pain
Pairing: Xander/? (it's a surprise!! think wishverse)
Rating: R/NC-17 (warning: bloodplay)
Band: Superchick
Words: 429
Lyrics: After all this has passed, i still will remain
After i've cried my last, there'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today,
Someday i'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain
(I'm sick in the head for coming up with this. Superchick is a Christian band, people.)

The slippery slide of fingers running down his spine make him shudder, but it’s not what he concentrates on. Instead he focuses on the sharp sting of the blade, cutting lines and shapes into his flesh. A hiss fills the room as he jerks, the cold blade digging in too deep at the movement.

“Hush.” The word is whispered against his skin, where blood has already dried. A tongue laps at the red flakes, a moan fills the air. Another cut, shallow and just deep enough to bring forth a few droplets of blood. A face burrows against him and a word is spoken like a prayer, “Xander.”

He feels powerful. Precious liquid drips from open wounds and yet he knows he is the one in control. He feels beautiful.

His eyes flutter open and the candles play gentle tricks on his vision. Fingers trail along his back, wiping at the blood, smearing it across his skin. The sickness that is his life oozes away and he tilts his head in submission. The chaos that was Xander no longer exists, he’s finished being that person and each cut marks a new life, and new beginning. He watches, entranced, as his companion pulls away, licking at his palm and sucking on red digits.

The man before him kneels, the cold blade trailing down Xander’s bare hip, scratching lightly. Teeth bite into his flesh and he grunts, holding back the urge to arch his hips, to demand more. Demands are no longer allowed.

The hope he had once felt, that he could feel release in a world literally gone mad, was gone, but in replace of it was something better. He had power, and with that power came pleasure.

A tongue trails along his inner thigh, before a hot mouth takes him in. The blade falls to the floor, no longer needed as fingernails dig into his buttocks, bringing the perfect amount of pain. A whimper escapes Xander, his back arching, muscles clenching. “Yes.”

The fingernails withdraw for a moment and Xander’s mouth snaps shut. His head bows, briefly meeting brown eyes before lowering in submission. Nails dig in deeper than before, bringing back that beautiful sting.

A roar fills his ears. The candles sway in the dark room. His eyes burn and tears threaten to streak down his face. His back steadily drips blood, sliding down his spine toward the curve of his buttocks.

He blinks, his body now feeling like liquid. He reaches out to the figure before him. “Good puppy.”

Puppy lowers his head in shame. Xander smiles.

Title: Lucky
Pairing: Xander/Dean (Buffy/Supernatural)
Rating: PG
Words: 324
Band: Lucky Twice
Lyrics: There's nothing you can do
To keep it out
There's nothing you can do
Just scream and shout

Xander did not know how he got into these kinds of messes. Sure, he gave off the ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ vibe and seems to draw the attention of those who are in need of a goofy word or two. Sure, he’s got nice broad shoulders, the perfect cushion in the end.

But he never expected to have someone that was not Willow or Buffy crying on his shoulder. Not that he ever expected them to cry on his shoulder, either.

“Umm, there, there,” Xander murmured, eyes darting around the dark bar, hoping-no, praying-for an escape route.

“I thought he loved me!” the girl wailed. “My life was going perfect. I was the lucky girl for once.”

“That’s…lovely.” Xander sighed.

The girl sniffed, possibly getting something on Xander’s shirt. “I thought we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. But after one night he was finished with me-“

“Wait, this guy was a one night stand?” Xander asked.

Wide green eyes blinked up at him. “Yes.”

“You dug your own grave, lady,” Xander said, gently pushing her away and making a beeline for the bar. He dropped down into a chair and banged his head against the bar top. “Give me your hardest liquor.”

“Women,” a voice chuckled.

Xander leisurely turned his head to look at the guy next to him. “Exactly. All I wanted to do was go out, have a little fun, and-“

“Possibly get laid?” the guy asked, smirking. The guy was cute and kind of on the short and compact side.

“Yeah,” Xander replied.

“Hmm,” a hand slowly lengthened out toward him, “Name’s Dean.”

“Xander.” He could feel calluses on Dean’s hand and fingers. This guy either frequently shot a gun or crossbow. Dean definitely wasn’t all his appeared to be.

“You know,” Dean said in a lazy tone, eyes gradually trailing up and down Xander’s body, “I could maybe help you with that.”
