Me being way ahead of the curve.
About a year before I ever had a standardized blog, I had a webpage that was terrible looking. And for a short period of time I maintained my own manual friends feed, called Pal Update. I think it's genius... because it's all about *other people*. Which makes it essentially gossip, but really, it gives everyone a chance to read about their own lives, which they love. And given that the implication is that I'm very fond of all these people, hopefully even the thumbs down items aren't exceeding bitchy as much as merely a reporting of what's going on.
Anyway, read about yourselves again! (Obviously didn't know some of you in early 2002, so no mentions of you. Sorry!)
Pal Update
I have noticed over the past week that life keeps on happening and that I keep running into things that I want to say about my friends, so I made this place. Take a peek at the personal lives of total strangers. Meanwhile, I'll be phoning the cops on your ass.

CLinda Update: She's back and blogging again after a bout with common insanity. Check it out. Oh, The Red Effect will open again later, but it's kinda crippled now.
DSiavash Update: I suppose I could have mentioned this earlier, but Siavash has gone into total social withdrawal. After that whole winter formal thing, he has stopped seeking out his friends. Jeez, as if anyone were mad at him 2 days afterwards. He hasn't recognized Jessie's presence in forever, even when we point out to him the fact. Like today, he walks up to us leaving 5th lunch and says hey, looking at everyone *except* Jessie. Also, he claims he doesn't see her, despite the fact that they pass each other everyday in the halls. He just suddenly has stopped "noticing" her. Nothing anyone says seems to make an impression on him, as he insists he has no problem. Admittingly, he seems the same when with me, but I am the exception. He is definitely pushing everyone away. I hope he is ok.

CSteve and Josh H Update: I stayed after school with Steve and then Josh joined us for the JV basketball game. Not that I cared anything about the game, I just had lots of fun hanging out with them.
CPeter Update: Yeah, I know it's old news, but in case you are out of the loop, Peter is taking Nerri to prom. Yes, I know what you are thinking, and yes, it is very cute. At this point, I can't really endorse Linda's "Peter and Nerri are going to have babies" campaign, but I think that it should be mentioned here. So there.

DTom�s Update: Ugh. I can't even *begin* to get into it all here, but things have turned not-so-perfect, to say the least. I take the blame for this. Everything is made much worse with the onset of Valentines Day and prom ticket sales. Seeing as he is so far away, neither of these things are in the picture for us... Despite us having avoided immediate crisis, this is, needless to say, not fun.
CJosh H Update: Josh and I got to go back to Carnage and recruit kids today. Got to miss class and everything. Had fun.

? Jessie Update: Ok, it was official before, but now it's really, really painfully official: Jessie is the most innocent girl ever. Also, it is once again clear that Linda and I have had no effect on her what so ever. Why? As of today, Jessie did not know what a "come hither" look is. I say, "Nice "come hither" look, Jessie." and am met with this blank, blank stare. Oh, the shame! Note to self and Linda: we must get to work on this soul before it is too late!
CChandler and Leigh Update: These two fine chaps sang two different songs at once today at lunch. And quite skillfully, I might add.

? Linda Update: Linda's voice was really strange today. She didn't sound hoarse, more like she had her voice actress replaced. It wasn't a bad thing, though. Much to the contrary, she sounded even *more* sultry then usual.

QLizzie, Jenn, Andrea and Cheezy Update: We all went to judification in Greensboro today for the ability to perform in this dance festival in February. We think we did well, but we wont know if we made it until tomorrow. We all had lots of fun in the car and we ate out at Cracker Barrel afterwards, where Jenn ate everything in sight.

DJessie and Siavash Update: Yeah, I think it's over for those two. Not meant to be. Siavash forgot his ID to get into the dance, tried to sneak in, got dragged away by teachers, and Jessie danced anyway and had a fun time. Way to go, Siavash. He'll be in the dog house until further notice.

As a historical note, the first incarnation of Placing Blame didn't exist until early May 2002 (the second is here). I also totally blogged for a bit on my site and I think I'll backdate those entries now. For a short time (like, a couple posts) I had a personal blog over at Blogger in addition to PB, but I don't think I kept it long enough to even tell other people about it, so I might as well move that over too, finally putting all my personal entries in one place.
God, I was *so young* when I wrote all of this...
