Friends Only
After 8 years here, I'm switching to Friends Only. Why?
Because of a new "social networking" site friendblab.com is collecting users data and posts and putting them up on their own site as if the person is an actual member. I'd never even heard of the blasted site until checking my InsaneJournal Friends page today but when I visited it and searched for my username I discovered most of my info from IJ and my latest post from there as well.
Needless to say I'm more than a little pissed. From linked posts here, here and here FriendBlab seem to be copying info from LiveJournal, InsaneJournal, Dreamwidth, and other journal/social sites. DW and IJ seem to be getting hit the hardest (IMO) right now but there are reports of people having their LJ posts show up there.
I'd strongly recommend people spread this around as wide as they can and check for their usernames on that site.

Today while checking out several of my Friends pages on IJ, and DW I noticed some rather disturbing posts about a new “social networking” site that was stealing people’s content without their knowledge or authorization. Wanting to see for myself I visited your site (friendblab.com) and searched for my username (LunyKimberly).
What I found was NOT encouraging.
Would you care to explain just HOW exactly I “signed up” and entered my info on your site when I’d never even heard of the place before noon today? I did not sign up for a FriendBlab account. I never gave you any consent to copy my information or posts to your site and I seriously dislike being made to look like I’m an active part of your community when I’m not and have no plans to become an active part.
Please remove my content form your site immediately.
