There seem to be more and more of those papers, right? Like, decent and perfectly acceptable writing, but...not original or exciting. Maybe it's the students? Or something? :-/

I saw the snippet you posted in the comment above -- love, love LOVE your James POV!! I think I was getting vicarious tunnel vision during the last few lines. Can't wait to read more, and good luck with the grading!

Seriously, despite being a pretty short interview (they always are, on Top Gear), there were so many wonderful moments. (I also kind of want an 'impressive sausage' icon. I loved his expression after Clarkson said that--a cross between 'wait, should I be pleased about this very public observation?' and 'yep, fair enough!' and also clearly wanting to laugh.) And he actually posted a very good lap time, despite not even owning a car of his own.

This one is almost done, I think? It's all first-draft, though, or at least everything in that excerpt is unrevised as yet. (I think I've spotted a couple of small things...) But hopefully in the next couple of days. And also--yay, you like things even when they are first drafts! :D :D

Poor James, though. So much pining. But he does say in interviews that he doesn't mind getting emotional, so... well, so he can, in fic! :-p

He and James both have so many hilarious interview moments, it's a hard call whom I enjoy watching more. Probably James, just a bit, because dear god, that voice.

Yeah, it's a toss-up for me. I used to like Irish accents a bit more, but James...mmm, something about that voice just makes me melt. And he always seems so genuinely happy about everything, and still sort of surprised that people want to see him. Michael, on the other hand, so often says wonderfully articulate things about film-making and the craft of acting, and that's neat, too. And they both have fantastic (and slightly dirty-minded, sometimes) senses of humor.

I can't take credit for the icon, but I love it! It's the hair, and the not-quite-smile--yes, we all know you're amazing, Michael, we think that's pretty neat too. :-)

Oh god, wasn't he fabulous! My friend had actually warned me he was on earlier in the week, so I was planted in front of the TV and ready! (I actually stopped watching Top Gear in general a couple fo years ago, but I made an exception for this! Although did then turn off after Fassy had been on... *g*)

Although I have to say, I was completely unshocked by the standard of Jeremy Clarkson's 'witty' repartee... *headdesk*

About Top Gear, yeah--Awesome Husband enjoys it, and I'm vaguely entertained, but usually I do other things, like grade, while it's on in the background. But I stopped all the other work for that bit--and I HADN'T been expecting it, so when they started to introduce him, with the list of movies, I was thinking, "X-Men, hmm, could be someone interesting...wait, A Dangerous Method? Shame? Haywire?! OH MY GOD!" *drops student papers*

At least Michael handles those "witty" comments with class. ("I don't know what I can say to that...yes?") I figured it'd come up (ooh, sorry, bad, bad pun) since Clarkson's not exactly the definition of subtle, but, sheesh. :-/

He was adorable! That expression, oh, gosh, I just wanted to hug him. I wonder if he would've been first, if not for all the ice? (Has James ever been on? I wonder how they compared, if so.)
