Yesterday I painted for 2 hours at the gym which was pretty cool. Did it for free but have got 2 weeks of free gym time for my f-i-l while he's here visiting from Canada. Plus I get to advertise in the Kids Club and hopefully get some local b'day party business out of that.
Today however, I went to Gumdale primary's country fair and painted kids there. Boy did I paint. It was NON-STOP from the moment I started painting that first face. That first kid sat down and I don't even remember what I painted her, but I painted continuously from then to the end, and even then Steve from Ray White, the guys who hired me, had to stand there and tell the kids to go away cause I was done!
So I am knacker-fucking-buggered I tell you! My arse was so numb, my lower back aching, my eyes drooping I felt so tired. It was lots of fun though, I really do enjoy painting. I did a lot of rainbow heart cheek arts on the older girls, though some of them braved the full rainbow butterfly, while 2 of the older girls even let me paint them as clowns (just no white face) I also got asked to do a couple koala's, a shark, a rainbow lorikeet, a few dogs, a few cats, a heap of buterflies, a couple tigers, a few more butterflies, some rainbow princesses, some Becstar princesses, some more butterflies, a couple spiderman's, a couple monsters, did I mention butterflies? Also a couple of the eye designs I had on my face, oh and butterflies... ;)
Needless to say I'm gonna sleep well tonight and dream of butteflies! I haven't counted how many sponges I have in the machine right now, but that will at least give me a rough idea of how many kids I painted today, minus the rainbow butterflies, rainbow princesses and cheek-arts which I did quite a lot of as well. I almost ran out of sponges! So if I ever get an 8 hour gig I'll need more sponges. If I ever get an 8 hour gig I want a directors chair so I can alternate between standing to paint and sitting to paint. When I get an 8 hour gig I will remember to take munchy foods to eat, water to drink, and take stretching breaks!
I didn't have time to get any photos but the Ray White crew were taking photos so I'm gonna ask them if they can send me some. I don't have model release forms for those though so I won't be posting them, they will just be for my own personal use as there were some faces I'd never painted before that I'd love to have a copy of. But I will post the faces I painted on myself this weekend at some stage, just not right now cause I barely have the energy to type this!!
All in all a great weekend and I look forward to many more like this to come, bringing in more money for us so that we can stop worrying about money so much and just live life freely.
