(no subject)
Well I have been sowing the seeds of prosperity. Now I need to wait and see if I get any sprouts to nurture and turn into good income. I still have a few more seeds to sow. I have childcares to go ask if they will display my flyers, my gym has offered to display some flyers, I have a party shop nearby to ask and I went and got chips to go with dinner tonight and saw they have a couple flyers in their window so figure why the hell not? The more I get my name out there the more chance I'll get at business right?!
My friends step mum even offered to put up flyers around her neck of the woods which isn't really too far away by car at all. The wider spread my marketing the better right? The biggest thing I need to do for my business is go and ask the hospital if I can put up my flyer for prenatal belly art. If I can get a regular stream of pregnant ladies to paint I'll be set! I'm over the pay-per-face gigs. I'm ready to do the pay-per-hour gigs. I really need to sit down and work out costs and decide how much to charge though, I'm still so all up in the air with it all.
I just want to get out there and paint, without the markets I don't have a regular outlet and I just find myself hanging to paint! I have a workshop coming up at the start of this week which will be great for boy designs and also with Halloween coming up, maybe I need to advertise at Griffith uni lol, if they are having halloween parties, you never know right?! The workshop could be fun too in that I'm learning some special FX. Never know when that might come in handy right?
It's hard to just sit here and wait. I don't feel I have quite the confidence to go cold calling right now in my life, so what other choice do I have? That doesn't cost money that is! If I had the money I'd put something in the Yellow Pages and the local paper and maybe even other newspapers y'know but I don't have the money for that right now. My online ad is generating a lot of interest however I haven't turned that interest into a booking yet. Without my market gig I don't have the money to be paying for my internet ad, so something has to happen and very soon! Maybe for now I need to just set aside my 'time' issues and do what needs to be done to get some income. Maybe I should go back to the markets even though I really do hate it...
Well all I can do is just hope that word of me will spread throughout the community and I will start getting calls for business! I'm good at what I do, I just need people to see me in action and think hey I want to hire her! What I want is a regular gig. I don't mind charging a little less per hour if it's an ongoing regular gig at a restaurant or club of some sort. Bring on the regular gigs! OK, enough rabbling. I just figured I should post cause it's been a week and I wanted to get my keystrokes up for the day on WhatPulse ;) haha. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother with LJ anymore.
