A Sea of Thought!

As I sit here listening to Devendra Banhart's, "Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon" and working my first graveyard shift in six months, A great many things weigh heavy on my mind. A cornucopia, a multitude, A sea of thought!

-"Steady as She Goes"
I could lie here, and say that I thought this one up entirely of my own accord, that this would be a falsity. Besides being the name of a Raconteurs single, I have used this phrase to describe my recent philosophy on life. It sums it all up so perfectly, doesn't it? It is so easy to forget those that matter most, and also that I am surrounded by those that love me.. I begin to focus on the negative and tend to lose sight of the sea of positive I wade through everyday. No reason to sweat life's small worries my friend, "Steady as She Goes.."

-Why is it that I love reading the blogs of others so much? What is it about plastering journal entries on a digital billboard that excites me to no end? Short answer; I'm not sure. (Perhaps there is some element of voyeurism that I am subconciously romanticing?) Whatever the reason may be, I realize only that mine is lacking. The problem lies in my barely adequite understanding of the english language coupled with a lack of real life experience in which to inspire me. (A muse? I believe the kids call it..) I'm not sure how to tackle the problem, but do all problems really need to be tackled? Some are better left alone..

-I gave up writing music over a year ago. I was asked last night by a casual aquaintence if I missed  writing music (Being a budding musician herself, although much more talented...) And what seemed to be a harmless question, soon sent my head spinning in all directions for the duration of our evening. What does this all mean? Well I'm just not sure. But I highly doubt I'll be picking up my guitar again any time soon....

-My stint with buddhism has concluded. I spent two miserable months trying to adhere to the (mundane) life Shakyamuni Buddha layed before us beneath his Bodhi Tree. My conclusion? I believe parts of the Dharma, Others seem perhaps a bit too hokey for me. I find it tough to subscribe to the idea of picking and choosing through a belief system.(All or Nothing?) Is it better not to believe? Ha! If only I knew. Boy,  The insanity of life! For right now, I think I will stick with the label of Negative Atheist. Has a nice ring to it, eh?

But overall,

I Feel Very Content. =)
