I can actually process it now, not completely (not sure if I'll ever be able to do that, but as much as possible). In handy dandy dot form for ease.
-SO GLAD that I saw it at a midnight session (like I was gonna see it anywhere else, but STILL.) The audience was amazing. We were a cheering, hollering carrying on kind of audience.
-The lights went down (after I had a freak out of losing the glasses that I'd bought, I quickly ran down to the cart to get new ones) and everyone Cheered then came on a phone ad telling us to turn off our phones, looking back on it now I think that's STUPID. It was midnight for god's sake, who would call someone then? and we all Booed
-Then came the warner bros logo and we Cheered, followed quickly by Shhhhs
-Shocked at how the title sign didn't have the Dun-dun dun-dun-dun duuuuuuuuuuuun music going
-Silence at Dobbys grave, it all hit us then that everyone was going to die and we were going to watch
-That first scene with Hermione as Bellatrix was fantastic, laughter and titters all through there. Then when she's walking down Gringotts, amazing, the wobble. She's such a fantastic actress.
-I had a moment of "And that's why Hermione is a Gryffindor instead of a Ravenclaw" and it was where she goes "Yes, I have an idea but it's crazy" and then proceds to jump on the dragons back, only a Gryffindor would do that.
-Then came the changing of Harry and Rons shirts, as Dan took of his shirt we all shuddered and tittered at the urgh-ness of the moment. But then the camera panned to Rupert and we all appreciatictily took in a breath and grinned.
-Getting to Hogwarts, just amazing, you could so so so feel the tention mounting and as Aberforth took them in everything was so nearly there. I loved the detail of Hermione and Ron jumping on the food that he put out too.
-NEVILLE. BRING ON THE AWESOME. I couldn't have imagined him any better. He was AMAZING. Came out of the tunnel and I thought he deserved a cheer, but he got them later on. Then walking and the dementor bit was a bit unnessecary, but ah well.
-Enter the DA and the cinema cheers and everyone was there. Cho, Lavendar, Pavarti, Seamus, Dean, Colin. And I'd missed them so much. Then a little speech and then Ginny shows up and the crowd parts for Harry and her to have some tention, meanwhile back in the audience we're cheering and then quickly trying to shut up to hear what was said, a few lucky people did so then they laughed. (I only found out what was said when I saw
this graphic here)
-SNAPE, loved how they showed him still being ~evil~ and on Voldies side. His speech was awesome, and Alan Rickman's voice is amazing doing those things. "Anyone with any info on Harry Potter please step forward now" and HARRY STEPS OUT.
-Then Snape and McGonagall do amazing things, and they show just why they're Heads of Houses.
-But before that (or after, I'm getting things mixed up) Ginny steps infront of Harry to protect him and then Neville and then everyone else AND THEN THE DOORS OPEN AND OUT COME THE ORDER IN ALL THEIR GLORY. And the cinema ERUPTED.
-MCGONAGALL she's another who totally brings the awesome to town.
Neville: Are you actually giving us permission to blow this up
McGonagall: Yes, we're at war. Ask Seamus to, as I recall he has a propensity to blow things up.
Like, WOW. Laughing. But so touching too, because that brings back all those memories of things blowing up in his face (feather, wingardium leviosa; cup, water to rum spell; potion, slughorns class). Her bringing the statues to life was always my favourite part of the book, because everything was getting ready to go down and McGongall was leading the charge. And the movie mad it that much better by adding in the
I've always wanted to use that spell line.
-Flitwick was being awesome, Slughorn was doing something. Death Eaters were showing up. Harry was getting stuff out of the Grey Lady (quite liked how they did that.) Hermione and Ron going to the chamber
-Death Eaters were running to the bridge where Neville was was being all
I'm stopping a WHOLE goddamned army of you and all I was thinking is Scabior; you're mixing your checks/patterns. Then Voldy does some spells and then some good flimmaking of Scabior stepping over the line and of Neville running away. And then being awesome getting up off the crack
-Ron being awesome getting them into the chamber because "Harry talks in his sleep" and Hermione going on her he's Brilliant spree which I adore, they're such an OTP. Last movie was Ron's of she's amazing and this was her's of he's amazing. Then with some nice irony and oppropriateness of getting rid of the Horcrux infront of Salazar's statue then comes the water and
THEY KISS, BIGGEST CHEERS IN THE CINEMA.
-Fighting and great cinema work.
-I liked how Malfoy apparated in there for the Room (makes more sense than him still being in school) and the Room scene with the Diadem was great, the diadem was not how I imagined it but it was good, still. I missed Goyle (or Crabbe, still don't know which dies) didn't like having Blaise there, threw it all off.
-Snape. Jesus Christ, Alan Rickman was amazing! And the Princes Tale was so touching and I was crying there. Have I said how amazing Alan Rickman was, well I'm saying it again. KILLED IT. (and broke our hearts) little Lily was adorable, and little Snape had weird eyes.
-Death scenes, Fred didn't get long enough. Tonks and Lupin BROKE MY HEART, I was actually crying (and I don't cry that much in movies) their hands were so sad. So close yet so far.
-Harry going was sad, loved how he said bye though. Hermione was GREAT!
-The stone. GOD THE STONE. CRYING ALL THROUGH THAT SCENE. I didn't cry at that in the book at ALL. In this, bawling. Just seeing them all again was so traumatic (three cheers for them for keeping the same actors, I thought they might have changed them)
-Blah blah blah, he dies (done well) off to Kings Cross he goes, which is good. Un-nessecary though, it's there in the books because Harry needs closure about Dumbledores youth, un-need here though because that wasn't there at all.
-Coming back was good, Narcissa great. Bellatrix awesome
-Nevilles speech was corny but put-up-with-a-ble because of his awesomeness. And then let's hear a huge cheer for Malfoy. And him not moving sides at the first call for him from Lucius (we all cheered) and then getting hugged by Voldemort when he's moves at a second call. AWKWARD. But then walking away HOLDING HANDS with his mum. LOVED THAT LIKE NO ONE'S BUSINESS. Gorgeous shooting.
-Oh, look, there's Hagrid for his one scene in the movie.
-Didn't really see the point in the fight to kill Nagini, everyone knows that Neville kills it. And he does in great style. Having Harry and Voldemort jump off that building wasn't as bad as it was in the ads, but still stupid. Didn't like the last battle but they were always going to change that. Still good though
-Let's bring Molly into the mix of dueling to make it THAT MUCH BETTER. And she says Not my daughter you bitch. Cheers for Molly.
-How Voldemort finally died was strange but it worked, so no real complaints here.
-I liked where the final scene with Harry, Ron and Hermione happened. And for the most part I liked it. But I HATED the deal with the wand, I get why and all that, but I think they should have kept it canon and got him to repair his own wand. Not just randomly breaking it and throwing it away.
-And then it was over --no wait! The epilogue was still to come (only one person in the theatre clapped there and I'm ashamed to say it was one of the girls I saw it with) and the epilogue was good, let's start with the music, such the right place to play it. They're starting again and it's with that theme. And it worked, out of them all older, Ron and Hermione were the best, her, fussing over Rose, such her character and Ron was such a family man with his arm around Hugo and a pot stomach. Let's just ignore Malfoy and his sideburns/receding hairline, ok? Good. Annoyed that we didn't see Scorpius' face. Albus was adorable we all cooed when we first saw him, James was a bit meh and I didn't like Lily at all.
-And the series finishes with a shot of the train pulling away into Hogwarts with a new set of people, images, ideas and background going to Hogwarts to be amazed at the magic there. And the traipse across the hallowed halls that have been the home to wizards that have done so much.
That turned out much longer that I thought it would be, but it's the end of an obsession. (It can never end just the new (canon) material for it)
I think the reason that the movie was so good was that the makers realised that THIS WAS IT, that was their LAST SHOT and if they screwed it up then the few million billion people who're fans would have killed them.
