Lune Legacy - Chapter 22

Jan 19, 2010 02:01

Welcome to chapter 22 of the Lune Legacy, entitled "Ride the Crazy Train".

Lait had started to embrace her athletic side, which let Heriberto spend a lot of quality time with his oldest daughter.  Since he had such a close relationship with her, it was only right that he be the one to break the horrible news to her.

Heriberto:  Lait, my child, I have some news for you.  Everyone knows that you will be successful in life.  You're smart, cute, and level-headed.  Nebula is cute and level-headed.  The two of you will go out into this world and make a life for yourselves.  Venus is... different.  She needs a head-start on life.  That is why your mother and I have decided to leave everything to her, including the house.

Lait didn't take the news so well, in fact, the shock made her faceplant on the treadmill.

Lait: What?!  What do you mean everything is being left to that crazy girl?  That's so not fair!

Nebula was left to the comfort of her painting, oblivious to the fact that she would one day have to move out and not be near her father.

Of course, there were doubts on whether the right thing was being done.

Mercy: Are you sure we should be giving everything to Venus?  I mean, Taya was similar to Venus and she's doing alright.

Heriberto:  Darling, isn't Taya a criminal?  And, didn't her husband leave her and the children because of her eccentricities?

Mercy:  Good points.

Little Tune wasn't even considered as the sole heir.  He was too young to be able to take over the household.  He was just adorable though.

Tune's birthday had snuck up on everyone.  The day was being regarded as a chance to gather some family and friends around to celebrate and catch up.

Some of the older Lunes were invited.  Candy was amongst them.  She was a widow with three children.

Lolly was also there.  Lolly was a divorced mother who didn't have custody of her three children.

And of course, everyone's favorite insane darling, Taya, was invited.

Taya:  The pixies were invited too.

Candy: Oh my God, look at your hair!  What is up with that?

Taya:  Do I know you?

Some others had been gathered as well.  A few friends of the girls had dropped by, and even Taya's ex-husband showed up.

Buddy Tate-Kimura was especially friendly with Lait and Nebula.  Although, he very much disliked poor Venus.  She had a bad reputation for being a little crazy.

And perhaps she was a bit crazy.

Venus: They got me, they finally got me!  Do you see it?  Do you see the invisible Jello monster?

Taya: I do, I do!  I thought I was the only one who could see it!

Venus:  Darn you, you jiggly wiggly Jello monster!  Take this!

After Venus calmed down a little, she properly introduced herself to her aunt Taya.  There was more crazy standing on the porch that day than in all the rest of the town.

When Tune finally did get to age up, he became a little copy of his father.

Lait continued to flirt with Buddy, who had caught her eye at the party the girls had held a while back.  He was one of the better looking teenagers who wasn't related to her.

And Venus had once again set her sights on Edgardo Duggan.  He was halfway entertaining, although he seemed a tad obsessed with his physique.

To finish off the Lune crowd, poor Caid arrived after the party had ended.  The guy was still single.

Knowing that she wouldn't be around forever, and that none of the other members of the family were any good at painting, Viva completed a portrait of her darling grandaughter.

Tune Lune was a natural for the camera.  Anytime I turned around, he was making a cute face right at me.  I couldn't resist him.

While Tune's faces were getting more adorable, Lait's were needing some work.  No wonder she never goes to the public gym to work out.

Mercy still spent most of her spare time playing the guitar.

Although, she was careful to also spend a lot of time with Tune.  She wasn't going to make the same mistakes with him that she did with her daughters.

The next morning, Venus and Lait had a serious talk before school.

Venus: Did ya hear?  I get the house.

Lait:  Only becuse you're off your nut.

Venus:  I... was never on a nut.  Are you on a nut?  Should I be on a nut?

Darling Nebula returned home from school that day to show her father a new gross habit of hers.  Namely, eating dirt to show off.  Heriberto was a little put off by this.

And more than a little disgusted.

While Nebula grossed out their father, Lait decided to call up Buddy and ask him out on a date.

Venus copied her sister, except with Edgardo.

Both were turned down.

Venus:  Maybe you should hop on the treadmill and work out some more.  Lose those excess pounds.  Then Buddy would want you.

Lait: Shut up, Venus.  Don't you have some trash monster to attack or something?

Venus:  It's 'garbage monster', and no, I don't.  He's on vacation with his family.

Mercy spent the night playing with Tune.

Mercy:  Mr. Bear thinks your sisters are all silly and crazy girls.  What do you think, Tuney?

Kelita's ghost comes out so rarely that I had to share this with you.

Frank barely comes out too, but we're all a little happier for that.

Every so often you manage to come across a decent spouse.  Thornton was a great spouse for the first generation, and I had to wait until the fourth generation to get another one, Heriberto.  The townies need to be more picky with who they choose to procreate with.

The next morning, it was more than apparent that the maid had given up on coming by and cleaning.  She would only show up once every three or four days, and only at night.

Outside the school, it's always fun to check out the teenage town folk to see who may be a carrier of good genes or may be able to provide some entertainment.  I can pick out the Lunes on sight more often than not.  This cute little thing is Lolly's daughter.

This hidious beast is Candy's daughter.  Something went horribly wrong there.

More toddler cuteness.

And more.  Picking his nose won't be so cute when he grows up.

Little Tune looks like a miniture version of his father.  Same hair and eyes.

Since she had been unable to get a date with Buddy the day before, Lait tried again.  And once again, she was shot down.

Venus tried again as well, and managed to get Edgardo to agree to meet her at the diner.

Nebula:  So, Venus has a date and you don't?  That's funny.

Lait:  Shut up, Nebula.  No one asked you.

In fact, Venus's date lasted a total of two minutes.  Edgardo abandoned her not long after she arrived.

Frustrated, Venus went to call on her other teenage suiter, Jerome.  He had grown unto a young adult since she had last seen him.

Jerome was a grumpy man, but every so often, Venus got him to laugh and smile.  It was a tough thing to do, and she found herself missing Edgardo's easy-going ways.

Outside the house, Jerome's mother was mourning the death of Chase Wolff.  He was one of the second generation Lunes.  Both he and his twin brother, Jesse, had passed away one after the other.

The Lunes were all slowly dying off.  It wasn't going to be long before Viva would be joining them in the ground.

Soon, it was Lait's birthday, she was to become a young adult.

Lait:  Well, girls, it's been really nice spending all this time with you.  But, I'm going to be an adult soon, so I won't have as much time to hang with you guys.  I hope you understand.

Nebula:  Shush, television is talking.

Lait's birthday was another reason to have a bit of a party.  This time only the teens friends were invited, this included both of Venus's suiters.  She shared a look with Jerome as the pair entered the kitchen.  Edgardo was too busy having a laugh to notice.

But, Jerome certainly noticed when a bikini-clad Venus started to talk with Edgardo.

Eventually, Lait did blow out the candles on her cake.

She aged up extremely well.

Afterwards, the two close sisters had a talk over supper.

Lait: So, what's up with the two guys, Venus?

Venus: I don't know.  Edgardo and Jerome are both really nice guys and all.  Edgardo isn't dependable though, and Jerome is a grump.  I wish I could mash them together to make one person.

The next morning, Venus and Heriberto stood close for a minute.  She looks a lot like her father when you compare the two.

That day was also darling Tune's birthday.

He grew into a not so cute little kid.

Lait's got a job in the athletic career and her priorities shifted.  She was more interested in building up her body then in landing the hottest guy as a boyfriend.

All good things must come to an end, and so must Viva.  On that day, Viva became 90 days old and decided to move out to a retirement home to live the rest of her days.

(For anyone who doesn't already know, my game is glitched and Grim won't come to collect any souls from my active household or any souls of people who die around people in my active household.  They just continue to float and disrupt the household.  This glitch almost killed my legacy once.  This is why Viva has to move out.  I will collect her tombstone after she dies.  Bella Goth is currently stuck floating outside Heriberto's work, and Lisa Bunch is stuck floating outside the grocery store.)

Before she left, she wanted to speak with her daughter and son-in-law.

Viva:  It's time for me to move on.  My grandchildren are becoming adults, there's no need for me to be here anymore.  Mercy, my daughter, I love you and I will miss you greatly.  Foreign boy, you better take care of her and my grandchildren.

Heriberto:  I always have.

Viva: I know.  For once, I'm glad to have been proven wrong.

Then Viva did the unthinkable and actually hugged Heriberto.

Viva:  I still hate you.

As the girls walked in after school that day, Viva was calling a cab to take her to her new house.

Thankfully, Venus was there to amuse everyone during this sad time.

Venus:  Yo!  You talkin' to me?

Venus: Smiles, everyone, big huge smiles!  Smile like you don't know there's a cake under your bed just waiting for the perfect moment to jump out and eat you alive.  It's revenge, I tell ya, revenge for us always eating their kind.

Venus: Uh, what was I saying, again?

Venus: Oh yeah!  You better watch it, I ain't no little miss nice girl.  I will mess you up.

Mercy dragged her husband away that night to have some personal time.  Those leather pants were almost as good as the police uniform.

Lait continued to work on her body every chance she got.  She was determined.

She did eventually take a break from training when she set her sights upon the new maid, who actually showed up for work that night.  He wasn't anything terribly special, but he was cute.

Also that night, Venus finally managed to haul Edgardo out for a date.

Why are all the crazy ones Lunes?  This is Paula Lune, Taya's daughter.

The next morning, it became apparent just how much Lait had been working out.  Her muscles were toned and hard.

She asked the maid to go into town with her that day, and he accepted.  She really liked him, and he seemed to respond to her flirtations.

Also that day, Heriberto finally dressed in a police uniform again.  It would be the last time that he ever would.

He got promoted to the top of his career that day, but...

It was also his birthday.  My beloved Heriberto was going to become an old man.

It's just not the same.

While all this was taking place, the girls were amusing themselves.

Venus:  Yuck, go away!  You smell like rose crapping unicorns.

Mercy returned to work this day, her maternity leave finally coming to an end.  She was excited to finally get back to her career.

A photograph of Thornton still sits on the main desk in the study.  I miss Thornton.

Lait had a new boyfriend that night, and couldn't be happier for it.  Too bad Venus still couldn't make up her mind on who she wanted.

No one in the history of Lune Legacy siblings have been as close as Lait, Venus, and Nebula are.  As much as they tease each other, they are all best friends.  Unfortunately, Tune is often left out, as is obvious during breakfast the next day.

It was Saturday and the twins both decided to invite friends over.  With Lait taken by the maid, this left Buddy open.  Nebula had become very good friends with him at school and was interested in turning that friendship into more.

Apparently, so was Buddy.

A moment of bliss for the twins.

Before Venus went and ruined it by doing her dinosaur impression.

Edgardo left not long after, but Buddy stayed to watch as the twins blew out the candles on their birthday cakes.  It was time for the last of the fifth generation females to become young adults.

Both girls aged up to be quite attractive, but in different ways.

Now that Venus is a young adult, it's time for her to think about getting a job, hooking a husband, and having kids.  But, Venus is still uncertain about who she wants to spend her life with.  She gets along very well with Edgardo, but he's not the most dependable.  Jerome is alright when he's in a good mood, but he's fairly grumpy and gets jealous easily.  Both guys are attractive and would make good specimens.  What is a girl to do?

As always, comments are loved and adored and can be left here.
