Rain, rain--
House is under siege by massive amounts of rain. I'm worried about the cars and the garden but there's not a whole lot we can do about it now.
The rain was so powerful it literally burst down from the gutters. It was amazing at first, until I realized that was how much water couldn't go down the drain because there was so much of it in so little time.
When I was driving home the streets were so flooded that kids and teens were splashing around in it in their swimwear. Some houses had water to their doorstep. I felt so much dread as I turned into my street but luckily the streets were relatively clear of water.
The rain has been so constant and loud, my dog has gotten really frightened. Mum's put him in the house for fear of the water reaching into his kennel but he keeps sniffing at the door as though he'd rather take his chances. I'd rather he sleep until this whole thing dries itself out.
