I forgot some things at the clubroom. They... weren't even important things. Haruhi was coming back the next day, so I figured I could just go and retrieve them before she came back and started throwing a fit about me being so forgetful.

I guess I had been so lucky in the past that it didn't really occur to me just how dangerous it would be. I mean, you probably wouldn't have minded coming with me, but I honestly thought I would be fine alone.

It was stupid of me.

Really, I don't even know what I was thinking. Sure, Haruhi would have been mad I'd forgotten everything at the club room, but... Apparently, I never stopped to think how angry she'd be if something happened to me.

There was a lot at stake and ... I just wasn't thinking.
