[ The communicator clicks on, and anyone listening can hear the low growl of wolves that are far too close to be safe. There's quick barking and snapping of jaws. Perhaps Kyon simply isn't saying anything; he might just be frozen still in a panic; he might have dropped his communicator without noticing; but knowing Discedo and how violent the creatures are when someone is at the wrong place at the wrong time and by themselves, chances are he's not breathing anymore.
