At first, I thought this place was a dream. Clearly, I was wrong. Unless this is some sort of recurring nightmare.

[ooc: Kyon is back from his canon update! Moar sarcasm ensues. For those unfamiliar with Kyon's canon, he still doesn't have any supernatural powers. Damn.]

this isn't fair!, i thought i left this place!, voice, ic, why me?

I'm sure many would like to claim the 'nightmare' possibility as truth.

It definitely fits the dictionary definition of a nightmare.

I'd hate to see what your subconscious looks like, in that case.

It's really not all that abnormal.

And yet you believe it has the capability to create a place like this, with all details and bizarre citizens included, including the places from said citizens' homes, and so on.

Quite the attention to detail.

I think I may have inadvertently claimed the dream was my own.

I know for a fact that I don't have the capability to create a place like Discedo--but I know several people who do.

What is your opinion of Discedo? Do you think it's reality, or is it just a passing dream or nightmare?

One would assume that's what you mean, else you believe in mutual and concurrent dreaming. And I may have critique those persons' tastes, if that is the case.

Hmm. A passing reality, I believe. An existence that is real but bears no relevance on the one it interrupts elsewhere.

I see. That's an interesting point of view.

I don't believe we've met before. My name is Kyon. I'm the personal babysitter of Suzumiya Haruhi. Stay away from her if you happen to come across her.

Mind if I ask your name?

It isn't. Parallel realities aren't uncommon, and none of us will have any recollection of this place once we return to our homes.

We haven't. I'm a relative newcomer.

Kiryu Yoshiya, but I go by Joshua, if you can manage.

You seem quite certain on your theory.

I'm sure I can manage your name. Ja-shu-a. It's not that difficult of a name.

One that isn't certain shouldn't bother speaking.

Then you're not entirely incompetent. Congratulations.

Do you even have any proof?

What kind of proof do you need? Or do you wish to suggest that the lives we remember are the dreams, and this is the reality?

Personally, I'm not sure whether this place is a dream or a reality. I used to think it was a dream I would wake up from someday, but...

...My current belief is that the lives we remember from before and this place are both reality. It just so happens that The City of Captives is a rather unpleasant part of our lives.

So we agree.
