A little. It's the most basic of philosophy questions, I guess.

There's nothing wrong with the basics. And, as this transmission shows, it still sparks quite a bit of debate.

If it makes a sound when you there, it would make a sound if you're not there. It's nature.

There's more to it than that. If we left a tape recorder there, it would still pick up the sound.

But couldn't that count as us being able to hear it, albeit in a very digital way?

Yeah, but it's not us right? It's a piece of equipment. It doesn't have to be monitored by people at the time. But, either way, I'm positive it would make a sound if it fell, regardless of whether or not someone was there to listen.
