[ XXXV | Audio ]

I found something interesting in one of the books tucked in the back of the library. For once, I think this is something that would be pretty interesting for all of us to do. So I don't mind Haruhi is making me announce it on the network this time.

It basically goes like this: I'll read a short story from this book, and you as the audience decides ( Read more... )

haruhi is making me do this, keep him away from books, haruhi, psychology time, koizumi, guilt test, koizumi what do you think

The guy who made the sign.

Should have made it a little bigger, and put up a taller fence.

If you have something that's so dangerous, and it's yours, you're responsible for keeping people safe from it.

...the Prince should've made her happy first too, if he was going to be marrying her.

It sounded like no matter what he did, the Prince would never make the Princess happy, simply because she didn't love him back.

They all share in some degree of guilt. But; Prince, King, Bull, Princess.

You find the Princess to be the least innocent?

She was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

She ignored the danger sign.

King, Prince, Princess, Bull.

My reasons, the King had the power to tell the prince No. But he chose not to just because of protocol. He has the ability to change that and sat by idly. The Prince is second because he forced the girls hand, possibly knowing that the King wouldn't sway because of tradition. The Princess because she foolishly took her life instead of paying attention or finding another way.

The bull is innocent. It's just an animal acting on instinct.

But wasn't the bull the final reason the Princess died? It trampled her and killed her, right?

It did, but an animal like that can't make decisions like we do about whats right or wrong. It just knows how to survive.

She probably frightened it, so it attacked her. She had a warning, though I doubt she cared.

It did say to do it based on who was guilty, not who should feel most guilty.

Are you saying the bull didn't kill Celestine?

That is an interesting question, sir. Ah... I would say, the Prince, the Bull, the King, the Princess. But I suppose all of them are guilty to some degree; the princess is merely the least among them.

Your reasoning?

neutralityloli February 1 2010, 17:17:31 UTC
The prince had been the one who forced himself on her, responsible for her running away, and while the bull may have been the one directly responsible for killing her, was a mere animal, acting on instinct; the king, meanwhile, should have listened to the princess, like a good father does, and not allowed it to happen. The princess, she, of course, should have not ignored the danger signs; but in the end, if she had been luckier and not at the wrong place at the wrong time, would not have been killed. But this is a story, and going by the rules of a sorry, it is likely that she would have ended up dying no matter where she would have gone to.

I think that was a pretty good argument.
