Quite the busy weekend, and basically all sports related, which kicks ass. To give you a preview of how the weekend went, here is a picture of what I see when I open my web browser:

First off, my 2nd Buttsactonville team did well, getting a 99-80 victory over the Channel 4 News Team (Joe!), haha. This league is basically both our 2nd-string leagues so its not something we pay much attention to, but nice to see.

2nd on the list is the Rocks, getting a 6-1 win over the D'Backs. Good to see, but not like it matters much. With only 13 games left in the 2006 season, we're trailing by 9.5 games out of 1st, and are basically out of the wild card race (9 games), which we were so close to taking control over last month. It looks like another Rockies collapse, right on time, late in the season, just as expected. The up side, is that as of this post, we are at the same amount of wins as last year, so as long as we win 1 out of the next 13 games, we will have improved since last year. After the regular season is over, I will post my 2006 season review, as well as a dedication to retiring Rockie who has been there since the beginning, Vinny Castilla.

I'll skip over the Bills game for now and talk about the Michigan/Notre Dame game. **Time to pay attention, Connors** Man, what a blow out! #11 ranked Michigan went into #2 Notre Dame and spanked those "Fighting" Irish right back to Ireland. It felt good laying the smackdown on them. Quinn looked like crap throwing numerous picks, and the connection from Henne to Manningham is looking better and better. This was Michigan's test to see if they are for real this year. And they are. ND Sucks!

Also that Saturday, da Sabres officially unveiled their new logo/uni's. That's right, the "Buff-a-slug" is in full force. At first, I hated it. Didn't look like a Buffalo at all, and had nothing to do swords, like their original logo, that combined both and is my favorite by far. Luckily, the Sabres will be wearing their old jersey as an alternate this year for 15 games, so that will get some action. So onto the new jerseys. Here is the home jersey, and the away jersey. They're good, better than expected. The color scheme looks awesome and I like the little touches of silver. It almost makes up for the crappy logo. They are very non-traditional hockey jerseys, with numbers on the front and no striping on the bottom. They look awesome from the back, as well. I might find myself in the market for one this season. Well done, Buffalo.

So this brings us to yesterday, and the Bills SQUISHING THE FISH. My bro and I once again headed to McFadden's in NYC to watch the game with about a hundred other Bills fans. We got a little drunk while the Bills whooped some Dolphin ass with 7 sacks and winning the game 16-6. The Bills look like they could be solid this year, with a defense that is dominating despite the fact that they have tons of rookies. In fact, 4 rookies STARTED yesterday and we still whooped some A. Next week, we lay the smackdown on the Jets in the home opener. And we'll all be there!

After that, we found some random pizza place to get some dinner and sober up, and then it was off to Yankee stadium for the Yankees and the Red sox. I'm pretty sure you all know my hatred for the Yankees, but you can't deny the history of that stadium and that rivalry, so we decided to check it out. We didn't get to get into Monument Park, but got to see it from above. Pre-game, we were pretty close to Jason Veritek warming up, as well as Mike Mussina throwning the bullpen. Also, there was some friendly talking between Ortiz and Bobby Abreu. We had a nice broadcast style view of the game, and the Sox ended up winning 5-4. Nice.

So wow, what a weekend, and I know this coming weekend is going to kick some ass at Fredonia. I can't wait!!!
