[Eiki was walking along the sidewalk, holding the Rod of Remorse in her right hand when she saw Graviel. She was ready to offer a smile in greeting but when he passes with nothing said she can't help but stop and turn. To her, this indicated something was most likely wrong.]
"I was just contemplating the nature of this town, and the gulfs in between people. And how dangerous they are to any of us ever escaping. The danger of this town is not physical, but moral and spiritual. And yet... we push each other away, afraid to make bonds."
"Our experiences together... the real ones, not the false memories, taught me that much."
[he pauses.]
"You are the first non-human I have met at length that I have not crossed blades with. You give me hope that... perhaps humanity can find a way live with non-humans. At least as long as is required to escape here."
It is something you see often, in small groups and large.
[She offers a smile, though it's a little sad.]
I hope that can be true for you. In my own world most of those that were not human retreated to a pocket world to escape persecution. I don't think there will ever be a time where they can fully share the same reality with humans again, though there are some humans in that world with them.
I think it may be because most people do not know how to deal with the unfamiliar. Those that are different make them uncomfortable and only a few are willing to try and understand. But in all honesty I don't really know. I wish everyone could understand each other, if they could there would be so many less sins in the world.
Perhaps there could be something put together to encourage speaking of all of our home worlds. Learning about where we come from may encourage more of a bond.
"That is... a very good idea. I will contact my friends, and I know you have different ones than I, and perhaps together we can reach a clearer understanding of one another, and bind ourselves with ties of loyalty and friendship."
Graviel?

That is a sad tendency isn't it? In a place where people should band together, instead separate groups are formed isolating themselves further.
