It will get warm in summer, but I'm not sure when the snow will melt. It was already gone when I got here.

As to Valentine's day...don't worry about the drones. Worry more for yourself. Things go haywire here over holidays.

"My family aren't drones, they are self-aware, and I wanted to do right by them."

You'd do far better to be ready to protect them from the anomalies this place will send at us than you will indulging in the cultural nuances of what the holiday is supposed to be.

"My son was babbling about it though. Quite put out that he didn't have a lady friend."

Lucky for him to be so innocent. It's considered a lovers' holiday, but I wouldn't pay it much mind other than to be ready.

"He is very innocent. I fear what this place might do to him if he unwittingly went to the wrong place."

[he chuckles]

"Indeed, astartes have no time for such dalliances. Though I have been told there is a party beforehand, and I have rarely been to celebrations of any nature, so I thought to go. It is hosted by some fellow... Hatch, I think?"

Parties are little more than an excuse to get together and mill about in the same house as a large number of people. And drinking. It has little to do at all with the original holiday.
