Okay, so I've given my brain 3 hours to process what happened in tonight's episode, so hopefully this will make some sort of sense, however doused with shipper love it becomes.
First off, I love that Peter finally got to speak his mind a bit. For too long we've gotten to see his blindness about Altivia get thrown in his face, so I was glad he finally got to dish a bit back at the beginning of the episode. It was a bit petty as well, but hey. I kind of liked that. He just said what I've been thinking the whole time: the only reason he and Olivia haven't been able to move forward is because she won't let them, not because Altivia was a part of his life.
Also, WALTER YOU SHIPPER. I COULD NOT LOVE YOU MORE IF I TRIED.
Also, my brain? TOTALLY GOING TO DW THE ENTIRE TIME. Not only because of the whole ghosts being people from another universe thing (hello, Army of Ghosts/Doomsday), but also because two people in different dimensions feeling extreme emotions could feel each other. (Did any other Whovians think of the Wall Scene in Doomsday?)
I love the theme they're developing with episode 14s on this show. Episode 14s are the P/O eps of Love. I mean, in Ability, he came back to the light box to wait it out with her, despite the fact that he was in no way sure she had any way to disable it. He just stood with her anyway, despite being nearly positive they were going to die. And the second he showed up, she started turning off the lights (which brought about all that discussion on the comms with us analysts about how Peter probably had some sort of power. Though we knew nothing at the time of his being from the other universe and how all that would play out. But, we were right, after a fashion).
Then, last year, it got revealed that whatever it is she feels for Peter enhances her ability. Because she was frightened about how she felt for him, she saw the glimmers. And this year, it amplified that ability even further. The only thing I can't figure out is if he stopped glowing cos she stopped being afraid (which I guess is how we're supposed to interpret it), or if she was slightly tipsy, lol.
As to *that moment at the end* -- 2 thoughts. 1) I'm glad they had it happen at Peter's house. Cos we never saw Peter/Altivia scenes at the Bishop residence, so it's a safe bet that it was a first time thing in that particular case. So, clean slate for their first "real" romantic encounter. 2) I hope Peter has taken all that stuff from Altivia's journals off his bedroom wall since "Reciprocity." Talk about a mood killer.
Random thoughts: Walter, your last scene was depressing. I miss my happy!Walter from the beginning of the ep. Where is Astrid this episode?! She's barely been around! Brandon, I love you so much more than your alternate! (Although, my brother and I got a good laugh out of inserting ideas into the climactic scene waiting for the Amber to be let loose. We were pretty sure Brandonate would have encased Peter and Olivia in amber before they even made it up the stairs and Walternate would look at Brandonate like, 'WTF?')
Apart from that, all I could really think is, "It's about damn time! They finally give us in 3x14 what we were all screaming for in 2x14. Evil writers are evil, but awesome at the same time." That, and "OMFG, Dad, I hate you! You had to say 'They're gonna fornicate!' and ruin the moment I've been waiting for for three years! Damn it!" (I break out in hives at the word "fornicate," and have done since I was like 7. I'm not exaggerating. I have a literal physical allergic reaction to the word. My father knows this and tortures me with it incessantly).
God, I want it to be next week. Like now. Or be after 8 this morning so I can rewatch the loveliness.
