My moon and me, not as good as we've been.

So please excuse me while I rant about the mbta.

The D train to Riverside that I on occasion hop on at Park St. to take to Hynes drives me slightly crazy, and here is why.

First of all, people run to the D train. You don't need to run to the D train. The D train will sit there for a good ten minutes, or seemingly no reason. People will run by me as I walk to train, and I will still get on the train. However, alternatively, I don't care for people who seem like they purposefully stand in the way of people trying to get to a train. But you get on the train, and take a seat. Most trains will then close up the doors and leave as soon as all the people who were waiting for that train get on. But not the D train. No, the D train will hang out, so your once-comfortable train that had enough space so people could easily get to the doors will have people trickle in, and each one will make it more difficult to get out at your stop. I saw people throw themselves in between the closing doors of the train because it almost left when it took them so long to move through the obstacle course that has now become the D train. Meanwhile, as you sit waiting for the train to leave, as fate would have it the guy behind you sounds like he is coughing up a lung. In fact, you are probably inhaling plague particles right now and will be dead by lunch time tomorrow.

However, then I imagine life without the MBTA. A life in which I need to deal with having a car in Boston, pay for astronomically priced parking, worry about my car, oh right, and actually get a car... or! pay for astronomically priced taxis! Or, leave two hours early for work!

No, I suppose life is better with the MBTA, even with obstacle-course-esque D trains.
