T R A I T S
Left or Right-handed?: Left
Strengths: He's very open-minded and confident in who he is, and is sensitive to others' emotions, and usually takes care in what he says and tries to make people happy.
Weaknesses: He's impatient, and a bit of perfectionist when it comes to certain things, and takes it out on others when things aren't going exactly how he feels he needs them to. He also winds up blinded to his bandmates' feelings when he puts the band itself before them.
Phobias: hospitals, dead people, darkness, cars
Life Goals: To go major with the band and become world-class famous
Priorities: Making sure Emiko is happy and taken care of is always his top priority, and then the band follows right after that, and then everything else.
Leader or Follower?: Leader, he has no problem taking charge and often prefers to.
Optimist or Pessimist?: He's seen too many bad things in life to truly be an optimist, but he does try to focus only on the good things in life.
Drinks?: Yes, mostly just at the band's afterparties-he'll drink to a bad hangover there. He also will have a drink or two at bars or wherever he's out looking for guys, but not to get drunk.
Smokes?: No
Does Drugs?: Does MDMA/E very occasionally
Core Personality:
He's sensitive, and often quiet, but not out of shyness or anything-he won't hesitate to speak up or take charge when the situation calls for it. He wants to see people happy, and will do his best to make that happen, but not at the expense of his own happiness, and if it involves the band, the band comes first, which is why he keeps scheduling things for the band regardless of Yamato and Ratsuii's schedules. He's very protective of his twin sister, sometimes overly so, but he cares deeply for her and knows how much she's been through and what problems it's left her with, so he feels that he just can't ever let anything hurt her again. He's learned not to take the world at face value, and he doesn't like the darker side of it, so always does his best to seek only the good in life.
He's also a bit of a perfectionist, especially when it comes to the band, and this makes him very stressed out and temperamental around live or recording times, because he needs things to go perfect, so when something goes wrong, he tends to take it out on his bandmates until one of them gets fed up and calls him out on it. He's ashamed of his family's wealth and tries to hide it in his every day life, not owning or wearing anything that would indicate it, and rarely talks about his home life. He does host most of the band's afterparties, but only the band ever knows that it's Ny's house.
Due to the things his sister went through, his parent's reaction to it, his first sexual experience, and being affected by death at such a young age, he has a hard time truly caring deeply for most people-Emi and the band are the only real exceptions, though he has plenty of friends. He's afraid to get too close though, because he doesn't want to get hurt and doesn't want to lose anybody. Therefore, if he gets into a relationship, it's not likely to last past the "honeymoon stage" because his partner can't take that he's somewhat emotionally closed off.

Mental Illnesses: None
Past traumas: When Nyusumi was three, his mother got sick and had to go to the hospital. His father took him and Emiko up there one day to visit her, and after the visit he stopped in to talk to some nurses, and Ny got bored and wandered off into this little boy's room. The room was dark, and there was no one else there. The little boy was hooked up to all kinds of machines. He was also dying. Ny, fascinated by the machines, went over and touched one, but just then the boy's heart gave out. Nurses immediately swarmed in, and Ny huddled unnoticed in the corner, watching in terror. The boy wasn't able to be saved. Ny, being only three, thought he had something to do with the boy's death and since then has always had a fear of hospitals. He was also in a bad car accident when he was seven, and now prefers to stick to walking and taking the subways.
Earliest Memory: The above trauma is also his earliest memory.
Addictions: None
Medications: None
S E X U A L I T Y
Virgin?: No
Age Lost Virginity?: 17, to his first boyfriend. The relationship lasted six months and he doesn't really regret it, but it wasn't "amazing" like he'd been expecting.
Sexuality: Gay
If Gay, Out?: Yes
How? Or Why Not?: He's never really hidden it in the first place, and has always been confident in his sexuality.
Kinks: He doesn't like hardcore BDSM (no torture/extreme pain) or rape fantasies, but he's open to trying new stuff. He likes having his mouth and ass filled at the same time, and he's a bit of an exhibitionist-he likes for people to watch him.
Fetishes: None
Dominant or Submissive?: Submissive-with him being sort of "in charge" of the band, and knowing his dad wants him to take over the hospital one day, and having Emi often depending on him for things, he prefers to let others take charge in the bedroom.
Views on Sex:
After his first time wasn't the big deal he thought it would be, he decided that "saving yourself" for love or that someone special wasn't worth it, and embraced casual (but safe) sex. He often hooks up with people at the band's afterparties, and sometimes goes to gay bars when he's looking for an encounter. He's a bit of sexual hedonist, because after seeing the kind of pain sex caused his sister when they were younger, he does not like any sort of sexual pain, and seeks only pleasure.
He always aims to make sure both he and his partner are pleased, but he's also confident and firm in saying no to anything he doesn't want, and won't go into a situation if it looks sketchy-he did have to learn that the hard way though, and had a close call with a partner trying to do something he didn't want, but luckily someone else at the party heard as they were passing by the room, and stepped in. He backed off sex for a couple of months, but then determined he wasn't going to let that destroy him, and started seeking partners. Only Kenji knows about that incident.

Summary:
The first few years of Nyusumi's life were mostly unremarkable, except for the above noted hospital incident. He got into a bad car wreck with his dad when he was seven (see Emi's profile), and spent a couple months in the hospital recovering (and a few more at home). Given the previous incident, this added greatly to his dislike of hospitals. This is also where his shame of his family's wealth started to develop, because as the administrator of the hospital, his dad was able to get him the best room possible, and made sure there was always a nurse able to be available for him immediately. When he had to be taken for x-rays or surgery or whatever else, his dad got him skipped ahead of others so he wouldn't have to wait. He also got special food cooked just for him, and his dad had a tv and VCR from one of the staff rooms brought to his hospital room and provided movies for him to watch so that he wouldn't have to be bored. All of this special treatment often caused nurses to whisper about the family and their wealth, and Ny often overheard and felt embarrassed and ashamed. Then when everything with Emiko happened, he had to watch his family scramble to cover it all up and keep the news from getting out so that it wouldn't affect their "good image." This was largely the tipping point that made him despise his family's wealth and he started hiding the fact. He didn't go so far as to make himself look poor, but he insisted on switching to a public school instead of the private one he was attending, and he made efforts to have the same sort of clothes and supplies and toys his classmates did, not wanting to stand out.
His love of music started during his rehabilitation after his accident-both of his legs were badly broken in the wreck, and he had a lot of physical therapy to learn how to walk again that often left him feeling frustrated. To give him something else to focus on, his physical therapist started bringing music to play for him and give him something else to focus on-the music happened to be Daisuke Asakura's albums Landing Timemachine and D-Trick, along with Electromancer, which had just come out recently. Ny fell in love with them, and wanted to learn how to play a keyboard just like DA. He mentioned it to his parents one day (this was before the truth about Emi came out), and since he was stuck at home with not much else to do, they signed him up for piano lessons, hiring someone to come to the house and teach him, as well as buying him a grand piano to practice on. Then after seeing what his twin was going through, he started feeling a lot of anger that his parents weren't trying to help her, and he threw himself into the piano and music even more, using it as a way to work through his feelings, though he was too young to understand that's what he was doing.
Over the years, as he watched his sister get worse and worse and his parents do absolutely nothing to help her, he poured a lot of his energy into music. He started messing around with keyboards and synthesizers when he was around eleven, eventually playing on them almost exclusively. He continued to follow along with DA's music and various bands, idolising the man more and more. His music was also a good release from the stress of the perfectionist demands his parents put on his schoolwork-anything less than top marks was unacceptable, and he came to despise school more and more as the years went on.
When Ny was twelve, he started toying with the idea of making a band of his own. He already knew that he didn't want to go university and do any sort of a traditional job, or take over the hospital for his dad when the time came. He wasn't even sure that he wanted to go to high school. When he tried to envision his future, all he could picture was himself on stage, pouring his heart and soul out into a keyboard. However, the biggest obstacle he had to starting a band was that he didn't have any friends he could ask to join. He got along with his classmates and was liked well-enough, but he wasn't close with any of them. He only really had his sister and his cousin Kenji, and he knew his sister would never start a band with him.
Then a few months into that school year, he found a notebook on the ground in the hall of the school, near his classroom. He picked it up and flipped through it, trying to see who it might belong to so he could return it. There was no identifying information, but there were several pages of scribbled lines with titles and a hastily scrawled "LYRICS" at the top of the first page. He read through them all, enraptured by how good they seemed, and the next day began asking around to see if he could find the owner of the notebook. Finally someone directed him to Ishida Yamato in the classroom next to his. He returned it to the boy, lying and saying he hadn't read anything when the boy seemed frantic about the idea.
Once he'd met Yamato, he started trying to make a friend of him, seeking him out before and after school just to talk to him, and though Yamato seemed reticent at first, slowly he started talking back to Ny more, and they began bonding over their mutual love of music. When they were thirteen, they finally decided that they wanted to start a band, but weren't sure who else to bring in as members. Ny mentioned a "friend" he had that liked to play drums, and said he could ask him. Since Yamato knew none of his friends would join, and he knew no one else, he agreed. So Ny asked Kenji if he'd want to join a band he was starting with another friend, and Kenji immediately jumped at the chance, seeing it as a way to often get away from home and his brothers. They started the band with just the three of them, but neither Ny nor Kenji were very good at singing, and Yamato didn't want to play anything other than the bass guitar, so they resolved to keep an eye out for someone else they could ask to join. Some months later, Yamato came across Ratsuii alone on the roof of the school, singing softly to himself and strumming an imaginary guitar. Yamato was impressed by how good Ratsuii sounded, and immediately asked him to join. Ratsuii declined at first, having only been back in school a couple of months and still wary of being bullied/people messing with him. Yamato was persistent though, and got Ny and Kenji to help convince Ratsuii, and eventually Ratsuii agreed, because he loved music and still yearned to be accepted by people.
So the four of them finally had a band, and Ny threw himself fully into it, both still using it as his escape from his demanding parents/home life and seeing it as his future. The four of them spent a lot of time after school practising, coming up with lyrics, talking about what they wanted out of the band, daydreaming about being famous one day, and also slowly getting to all know each other better. They started hanging out at Ny's house on weekends, presumably for practice, but often times they wound up goofing around and just having fun. By the time they all entered high school, they had become incredibly close to each other, and considered themselves a family of sorts. They also agreed that they wanted to work hard to get signed to first an indie label, and then a major label later, and that once they graduated high school, they'd focus completely on the band-no university for any of them. Near the middle of that year, they finally do get signed to an indie label.

(that only Nyusumi knows)
- He's absolutely terrified of being around/in cars, and never wants to learn to drive. His friends all assume he knows how to drive and just doesn't cos Japan.
- He often borrows Emi's BL manga in secret and reads them.
- He really enjoys taking regular clothing and making them into more of a casual visual kei style, often sewing on the zippers/studs/buttons/etc himself. He's self-taught but thinks knowing how to sew is something embarrassing for a guy, so he never tells anyone.
- As much as he loves Emi and only wants to see her happy, sometimes he wishes he had born an only child, as her dependency on him wears him down at times. He feels deeply ashamed of himself every time he wishes this.
- He blames himself for the abuse Emi suffered-if he hadn't been hurt so bad in the accident, his parents would have never sent her to their uncle.
- He doesn't love his parents, and hasn't since they swept everything about Emi under the rug.
- His legs often ache from the old breaks when bad weather is coming and/or he's tired. If he's tired enough, or they ache enough, he'll limp or walk stiffly. This one isn't exactly a secret-his friends/family know this happens, and why, but Ny often tries to hide the pain as much as possible because he doesn't want anyone fretting or fussing over him.
