Previously:
Tags After they finish their picnic lunch, they decide to relax a bit and visit the lighthouse to take in the scenery. Chris immediately decides that this will be an ideal spot to view the leaves in October, the brunette trading his digital camera for his digital camcorder. That strikes up a discussion regarding the annual Harvest Festival at Northwestern; Trish listening intently to the conversation.
“It’s a week-long festival sponsored by Northwestern Alumni,” Amy explained, the redhead seated on a bench. “There’s a trip to an apple orchard, one to a pumpkin patch, pumpkin chucking, bake-offs, a pie eating contest…” She paused for thought, “and there are a few dinners involved as well, for fundraising purposes, but that’s mostly alumni and faculty attending, occasionally politicians.”
Adam polished off an apple, “Journalism students are heavily involved in the festivities because we need student perspectives for the newspaper and quarterly magazine. This year, we’re also teaming with the Communications department so the radio can have a live broadcast.”
Chris seemingly perked up at that, “and that’s going to be me, right Prof?”
Amy exchanged a look with Adam, “actually you’re going to partner with Angelina Williams. And possibly do a live broadcast for the television station as well.”
Chris made a face, “why am I partnering with Boobs McGee?” And then he winced when Trish slapped his arm. “What did I say?”
Amy arched an eyebrow, “because I said so, that’s why. It’s already been decided that Trish is going to be the student representative for the fundraiser dinners.”
Trish blinked, “but I’m only a freshman.”
“You’ll do fine,” Amy reassured the slightly nervous blond student. “This is also a prime opportunity for you to network and line up some possibilities for summer internships.”
“Plus, we’ll all be there,” Adam mentioned he had finished his apple. “Sometimes the dinner can be fairly boring but it’s worth attending.”
Trish nodded, picking at the chipping nail polish on her left index finger. “All right… and it’s not like I don’t have time to prepare.”
Amy nodded her agreement, “I’m sure that you’ll do fine, Trish.”
At that the conversation shifted again, this time in regards to other festivals and campus sponsored activities that the Journalism and Communications students were expected to cover as members of the student radio, newspaper, magazine or television studio. Naturally, Trish wouldn’t be able to participate in all of them because of sports, and neither would Randy for that matter, but both students were aware that they had obligations to fulfill.
