Tags After the guests have left, Jamie and Amy are in the attic in search of a distraction to keep Alex and Josh occupied. The two females decide that the task of rearranging Christmas and Halloween decorations is a perfectly acceptable task for July. The guys, on the other hand, are hardly amused and in total disagreement; protesting quite vocally when they join Amy and Jamie in the attic.
“You can’t be serious…” Josh said, glancing between the two women. “And how do you two have so many holiday decorations?”
“To decorate with,” Jamie replied plainly. “Duh.”
Amy handed Alex a skeleton, “this is Fred. He sits on the front porch to greet trick-or-treaters.”
Jamie presented Josh with a three foot tall elf, “and this is Buddy. He stands on the lawn.”
Alex and Josh exchanged a look, still holding the holiday decorations.
“Well, don’t just stand there,” Jamie gave them a meaningful look, “get to work.”
Alex caught hold of Amy’s elbow when she started to walk past, “and where are you two going?”
“Downstairs to finish the basement,” Amy said, patting his cheek. “There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.”
Before Josh or Alex could say another word, Amy and Jamie were leaving the attic.
