I don't understand people who do nothing on planes

I really don't understand people who do nothing on planes. How can you just sit there with no book or radio or game or magazine or even empty snack pretzel bag to read?

I don't understand people who go on a trip knowing they will be sitting in an airport, waiting, and then sitting on a plane, waiting, and don't pack at least one small paperback to occupy themselves. How do they not go absolutely mad with nothing but the back of the seat in front of them to concentrate on? Are these people perpetually bored? Do they do nothing all of the time or is it reserved for plane rides to exciting far off destinations like Scranton?

I suppose I have discovered that I am a stimulation junkie. I cannot stand a single waking minute without some sort of information or entertainment or task to do. And if there is none of those...then why be awake?
