Mafia - Game over man! Game over!

May 13, 2007 18:51

Today, the town is quiet, but minds are made up.

One after the other fingers are pointed. Voices demand explanations of Ahsha, but are not satisfied. Votes start to come thick and fast in the second half of the day. The votes are tallied and the majority speaks. Ahsha is shoved towards the gallows by the crowd, the noose around his neck. He, like so ( Read more... )

I'll probably start my game tomorrow, just to give people some fair warning :)

There are so many told you sos in this game.
Lex can say to me "Told you they had a recruit, you didn't believe me!"
And I can say to him "And I told you that if they did have one it'd be ross and you didn't believe me"

Worst failure to combine information ever. We both lose :(

Er...are you sure that's how it happened?

From this thread on day 3 part 1:

VG: I'm not ruling out a recruitment ability having been activated by the wolves at this point.

X: Possible, but then you'd think they'd have targetted rossb as an excellent way to create a division in the group. Since he came up with the improved "only finger the guilty" strategy before I posted it I can't imagine he's turned.

V: I don't think they'd have targetted ross as a recruitment, although it does have the high benefit you mention, it has high risk too.
If there were a bodyguard character, then a failed ross recruit could on balance cost the wolves the game on the first turn.
If I were a wolf, I'd recruit either an active influential player for the influence, or a quiet unnoticed one for the defence.

The logical flaw in my argument is so apparent now I know what happened :P

Why did nobody reply to "Since he came up with the improved "only finger the guilty" strategy before I posted it I can't imagine he's turned." with something like "Ahh, but if he's turned he might need an excuse to keep his findings secret to not give it away too early on"

I knew Greg was innocent by metagaming - he was so pleased about his strategy working and avoiding a kill wolf that round, and putting it on MSN as well. There's playing the game well, and then there's living it. I decided rightly that his enthusiasm was genuine.

I guess he could have just as easily have been recruited as Ross though.

it was too early. If that were the case he'd ahve been happy later - he wouldnt have known if his plan had worked and he'd been trusted until he's heard people's reactions.

Yeah, I had no ability to block special powers at all.
I wish they had, it'd have been an easy victory :P
Then again, not only were there 4 wolves including a recruit in a closed roles game, but the wolves were also allowed secret talks during the day! We'd have had to play a absolutely spectacular game in order to win this.

No, closed roles mean we don't know what roles were in the game.

Nobody, for example, knew there'd be 4 wolves (since that's very high for a game this size) so nobody knew that the last day was a "lynch or lose" day.
