[Like the last time his number was pulled for the draft, Ceodore is a big bundle of energetic activity. It's not all just in preparation for the fighting to come. He's trying to stay busy to avoid thinking about things like the latest experiment and his father's departure. Getting ready for tomorrow is an excellent distraction. Mostly.

[Lyn is at the barracks when he arrives, battering one of the targets into submission with a whirling barrage of attacks. She doesn't even notice him coming in.]

[It's been a while since Ceodore first saw Lyn in action in the barracks, but she's no less impressive now than she was then. He lets out a low whistle, waiting until she's done to pipe up.]

Leave any for the rest of us?

[Having worked up quite a sweat by this point, she's breathing pretty heavily when she turns to greet him.]

From what I hear, you're going to be having plenty to deal with soon enough.

Yeah, looks like it.

[Ceodore grins and offers her his canteen he brought with him.]

[She accepts it and takes a large swig, enough that she actually has to take a gasp for air when she's done, then grins at him.]

More than I was the first time. I was... stupid. Now I know what to expect.

[She shakes her head, frowning a little.]

Unprepared isn't stupid. You have a lot to learn, but you shouldn't doubt yourself so easily. You have skill.
