i'm sorry rydia, never as great as my parents, i eat angst for breakfast, more cast drama, taking all the blame, like ceodore doesn't angst enough, attempt to rescue = fail, should not have a sword, angst for lunch too, dinner angst yum

[There's a soft sigh. For all Kain had said about his darkness, and what Ceodore had said about the dragoon detesting him, he was loyal until the end. Now he's dead. Forever- or so Cecil thinks.] He fell honourably. I'd expect no less of him.

[A slight tremor in his voice, but Cecil does a decent job of concealing it. Kain's a soldier. Fighting, even at the cost of his life, was what he was trained to do.

Rydia, on the other hand... Cecil is doing his best not to think of her. It's too painful.]
