I guess I sound like a history book. The city's large and the people are kind and open. There's a waterway and bustling shops, the inn is always busy accommodating travelers.

After watching the Red Wings die trying to get home, and finding the guard taken over by monsters, well, suddenly home, and all it represents has become far more precious to him. It's absolutely worth fighting to get back.
