[Most of the morning, Ceodore's outside the house working on putting the finishing touches on a sizable pen. Who it's intended to contained is fairly obvious, if the disgruntled warking of a half-grown, black chocobo is any indication. The bird's been tethered to one of the posts so he can't get away and into trouble, while his owner slaves away on ( Read more... )

Is that so? Would you rather do so in person or over the journals?

In person, if you're not busy. I'm just finishing up the pen for Kelmis at the house.

Of course. I'll be there within five minutes. Do you need anything from the grocery store?

N-no. I'm fine. Uh, we'll be on the couch.

We? ...Very well.

[Less than three minutes later, the door to the house opens.]

[When he gets there, he'll find Ceodore and Selphie sitting on the couch, amazingly not engaging in PDA for a change.]

Hey.

[Raised eyebrow. What could two lovebirds have to say to him together?]

Good afternoon, you two. What did you need to tell me?

[Selphie's got her hand wrapped tightly in Ceodore's as she smiles when Cecil comes in. She's been sitting on pins and needles about this discussion ever since she and Ceodore had had the other day and she was feeling pretty nervous about this as she swallows and bites the bullet.]

Well... we got to talking the other day about getting our own place nearby and we wanted your input on the matter.

[Because as much as you're a father to Ceodore, Cecil, you're pretty much Selphie's Dad too.]

It'll make some room for that little summoner Rydia brought in and we can have some space to ourselves.

[Not to mention some privacy.]

[...Oh thank goodness. For about half a second there he thought they were going to announce that Selphie was pregnant. Wanting to move out is a much simpler matter to deal with. And also one that is less likely to make Rosa panic, should she be brought here.]

You do realize that finding your own home will involve different responsibilities and expectations. Have you planned for those yet?

[Selphie's already lived on her own in Luceti previously, so she knows what to expect.]

We'll have to make our own meals, clean the place up, do our own laundry, get our own food. As for planning...

[Selphie's not a planner so much as a fly by the seat of your pants type. Thus the wanting of input!]

[Whereas Ceodore's got no idea what to expect and just that question has taken him by surprise. He listens to Selphie's list though and that doesn't seem too hard. Pizza, forget cleaning since it's a waste of time, and uh... laundry. Hmm. Just hit up the shops when everything's dirty? Yeah. They have this covered. Really, the only 'planning' Ceodore's had in mind is what he can do with Selphie without a house full of other people.]

Yeah, we've got it covered.

[Young man, if he could hear those thoughts there would be Trouble and Scoldings and Lessons in Survival. Luckily, Cecil pays more attention to Selphie's sound basics.]

You must also think of the advantages of both houses and apartments, and choose one that will be practical in your every day life. A house would involve taking care of the lawn, while apartments involve shared living space that will partially be your responsibility. Taking into account your future neighbors is also important. And every aspect of your household will have to be shared equally.

[Huh, perhaps he could hear those thoughts after all.]

...You must also realize that there is a good chance people will talk.

[Thankfully, she's not all rush in headfirst with all situations. She nods quietly at Cecil's advice. What's he saying makes a lot of sense and it gets her thinking that she's not quite ready to take that step again. The thought of living in the old apartment when Quistis disappeared on her bring back a lot of pain that she doesn't want to live through again.

She's knows Ceodore's opinions on chores very well and that brings other thoughts to mind. She's realizing that they haven't entirely thought this process out all the way.]

Maybe we should wait. This isn't sounding like such a good idea after all...

[She wants safety and security and not have to worry about someone trying to ravish her every other second.]

[Hey now, he wouldn't try to put moves on her all the time! Guy's gotta rest some time.]

Uh, Selph? You okay?

[That's a turn around and he's not always the most clued in soul, but he's got a fair idea when something's bugging her now.]

In that case, I'd suggest making complete plans first and choosing whether to go through with it or not after that. Otherwise, moving would be nothing more than an additional source of stress.

[And stress can do very bad things to a love life. Unless it's the world-saving sort of stress.]
