New Year, new season, new set of dramas. My picks for last season didn't exactly follow through, but then there were some dramas, such as Galileo and Utahime, that really did make up for the rest. And of course, Yukan being the lulz factor of the week. XDD
So I thought I'd better be pro-active this season and check out for myself what's the deal with the upcoming dramas, instead of just going with the usual choices of other fellow d-addicts. And here's the main list of dramas to choose from:

After reading through the brief summaries, this is the list I finally decided on:
Nodame SP
Hands-down, this is the drama of the season for me. This is the only drama I have watched like FIVE times end on end. It's on my iPod even. I prayed for a season 2, but I guess an SP will be enough for me. Classical music, France, and my favorite OTP ever, rolled into two SPs. Oh yeah, way to start the new year!!
Ashita no, Kita Yoshio
The summary told me almost nothing, but the line-up told me otherwise. According to the wiki, it's on the human drama genre, but I smell a mystery-suspense drama, what with Matsuda Ryuhei and Kuriyama Chiaki, among others. They're known for accepting caliber roles, so I expect the script to be of a certain caliber as well. And I see Kaname Jun to be eyecandy too <3
Lost Time Life
Whenever death, second chances, and time-travel are mixed together, count me in. Plus it's episodic, so you wouldn't be stuck in a rut, waiting for the next one like most of the other dramas.
Atsu-hime
When news of this came out months ago, I know this is going to be on my list without a doubt. IT'S MIYAZAKI AOI. IN A TAIGA DRAMA. aakdsfajf!! I so badly want to watch this, but NO ONE IS SUBBING WTF. I'm praying SARS is going to take it up, because my Japanese is going to break under all the Keigo. Not to mention the military terms. T.T
Hachimitsu to Kuroba
It's the hyped-up drama of the season everybody's watching. I'm kinda doubting the script; I couldn't make myself read past page 1 of the manga. Hopefully, they take as much literary license as they did with RinoKimi. OH WHATEVER. I'm still gonna watch it for Toma and Hiroki even if the script sucked.
Guren Onna
The summary amused me to bits. The main character is some introverted lady who spooks people out as her main purpose in life, only to meet real ghosts. XD I can tell I'll be laughing my ass off each episode.
Sasaki Fusai no Jingi Naki Tatakai
This one looks like Laws of Attraction, Japanese version. BUT it has Goro and Koyuki, so that gives me a bit of confidence in the storyline. HOWEVER, no one is subbing it dagnabit. I'd venture watching it raw, but I'd drown in looking up legal terms every single minute.
And then of course, there are the ones that I'm not so sure of but I'll end up checking out anyway
Bara no Nai Hanaya
I don't know... I've read many positive comments on this, but it looks to be like a slow-paced, heart-touching, cheesy-not-in-a-romantic-way kind of drama. I prefer storylines like that to be SPs, not full length dramas. But I like Takeuchi Yuko to bits, so we'll see.
Binbo Danshi
I admit, I'll love Oguri only if he's Rui. YES I AM SHALLOW. I'm sorry, but bad hair just IRKS me to no end. And ever since Rui, it seems like his stylist had a grudge on him or something. And Binbo Danshi doesn't exactly sound like he's going to have coiffeured hair soon.
Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi
Tamaki meets up with Ayase here. If I got the summary right, he's supposed to be able to talk to deer, which tell him how to save Japan from utter destruction. ERM. YEAH. why didn't you just give Tamaki a nodame season 2 dangit I'm not thrilled with Ayase, and the plot looks dreadful if executed horribly. But Tamaki is there. Tamaki is there. Tamaki is there. *mantramantra*
1 Pound no Fukuin
If you happen to be a die hard Kame fan. AVERT YOUR EYES. DON'T READ THIS. You have been warned. Okay, contrary to most people, I am avoiding this drama at all costs. I'm not exactly thrilled with the storyline; being Catholic as I am, I am not looking forward to indecencies and star-crossed crap in the church. And I've seen Kame once in a rabu-rabu scene. It was iffy to say the least. I'm checking the first ep, but it has to be more than brilliant for me to get hooked on. Hopefully Meisa will make it easier to stomach than Misaki.
The new season looks a lot more promising than last (I have more prospects this season), but the disappointing thing is, no one is subbing most of my A-list! Some of them, I can manage without subs, but for Atsu-hime and Sasaki Fusai, I will definitely need some help. Oh well, let's see what the new year brings. ^^b
