In Which the Great Return Cometh!

OH SWEET SWEET INTERNET, HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU.

For once, getting internet at my place went off without a hitch. Well, slight hitch, the cable jack by my comp had a short in it, bu there was another one on the other side of the room. The cable guy was grumpy about it, but I got my net and life is good. >.>

Work was a hell of a week, which is impressive because it was also a SHORT week. Glad its over and I hope the rest of the month calms down a bit. Move went well, my family was an awesome big help with it. I still haven't unpacked much (on my first full day in the apartment, I did just enough to get things set up to make tea and then went straight to setting up the computer >.>; )

Otherwise, not really much to share from me. I'd hoped I'd be more productive during the week with writing and all (Meg is doubtful she will meet her 1000 word a day goal for January, but really, that is okay) but I did get some writing polished up and done.

My oldest sister sent me the following link which is a very interesting talk regarding the pressures on creative people and it occurred me that, frankly, when I get interesting writing resources, I should stop sitting on them and start SHARING them with my journal. They will not hatch into a mystical phoenix if I sit on them long enough. They might be useful to someone else if I share:

Very uplifting, I recommend watching it. If only so you can go "Snrk SEAWEED?" with me later.

In some ways, I agree with her statement, and in others, I disagree. I guess ultimately the problem for me with her idea is where does the editing process fit in with genius? Do editors also get their own genius, who will suddenly blaze to life and make them find ALL OF THE SPELLING ERRORS AT ONCE? Because editing and polishing are a part of the genius process that gets ignored, as if when genius hits, everything appears perfect and magical as it needs to be. This is not, in fact, true. Sometimes it appears perfect and exact and completely backwards.

But this mini-rant from me is because I've been doing editing for a friend lately and because my own largest work is getting close to done and thus I'm debating the editing stick.

Bottom line, watch and enjoy and if anyone wants to start a chat regarding the nature of inspiration, editing, and the creative process, hey! I'm around now!
