In Which It Runs in the Family

Because I feel like it, HAPPY THINGS FIRST.

First, a general big thank you to everyone who has commented and given me support through all of this shit. I know I don't always comment back, but I REALLY do appreciate it. Seriously, guys, thanks. <3

Second, Hollie and I are dorks. Huge dorks. fandom-cliche Gigantic dorks who now have a fanfiction prompt community. :E /pimpage

And now, MORE RAMBLING ABOUT MY HEALTH.

Mother fucker, it might be IBS. o.-;

Well, the result of the doctor's appointment was... interesting. I saw a different doctor than the one I saw last time and I must admit, I kind of liked her better. She was really cheerful and pretty observant and very talkative. Different, but I liked her. Unfortunately, she's not a regular at the clinic, but on loan. Oh well, maybe she'll become a regular, I liked her.

The doctor I saw poked around the body for a while. The gallbladder, of course, was in one if its "I am TOTALLY COOL" moments and not hurting in the LEAST. On the other hand, my bowels were eerily silent, but I seem to be bloated and, um... my stomach is...bouncy? Like, not fatty bouncy, but rather, the muscles are hard, yet things are still springy. She thinks it might be IBS considering the symptoms I have and that it does run in the family. Ah well, could be worse, I guess. A lot worse, really.

What's going to DONE about it is the following:
-Ultrasound to check for gallstones, which I schedules on Monday.
-Blood and lab tests liek wow. I don't know all of what this woman signed me up for, but she check marked a LOT of things. I may actually go down to the lab tomorrow and see if they can crank through this, since its a very looooong list. The ones I can see listed include: Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Lipid Panel, Thyroid Screen, Amylase, CBC w/ Differential, Lipase, and Sed Rate/ESR. It's also fasting, so I better make sure I have a good dinner tonight if I go down tomorrow.
-I'm to go back on the over the counter acid reducer, but for longer and twice a day for a while. Also, I'm suppose to take it at night since most of my attacks are at night.
-I'm suppose to take a good quality, high dose Acidophilus, which is suppose to help regulate the bacteria in the intestines.
-Ooooh, more dietary restrictions. *SIGH* Basically, I need to stick with the low cholesterol thing I've been doing this week AND keep off of tomatoes and garlic and onions. On top of that, I'm going back to soy milk for a while and... no wheat! D: Going back to soy I can manage and I've been avoiding cheese and most dairy anyway. Wheat on the other hand, is going to be interesting. I... really like bread. ;~; This is, in general, going to make eating for the next few weeks very interesting. Well, I've needed to watch my diet for a while. :E
-Regular exercise. No. One. Say. Anything. Seriously, I've known I need this for a while and I will be starting to get some. Yes, starting tonight. Though I am considering seeing if I can track down a DDR pad and starting to do that since that seems like a fun, cardiovascular way to get healthier.

On top of this, since most of the stuff I suffer from seems to be stress related, I will be doing a few things on my own to reduce stress.

Jeebus that's a long list. What's annoying me most right now is that it's all... time consuming and the medicine and food changes are not exactly inexpensive. Ah well. If I run into too much monetary problems, I'll call my folks and ask them. But I think I'll be fine, as April should be nice and cheap as far as months go. Crap, speaking of expenses, I should see about getting a plane ticket for Beth's wedding in September. Oh the many things. :E
So, yes. We'll see what the various lab stuff brings back.

health, doctor, body hates me
