In light of the latest meme "stories I will never write," I am declaring amnesty for whacked plot bunnies and publishing a list that has tormented me, but I am too cowardly to inflict them on others. Can be taken, may never be written. There are spoilers through 2x22 in here now - the last one: 19. Warning: I like to beat up on Dean. Evil!Sam is also fun.

1. Sam becomes evil and starts his rise to power under cover as a high-powered lawyer. He wants to keep Dean, but Dean isn't evil, so he messes him up on anti-psychotics, drives him crazy, and everyone thinks he's a cutthroat lawyer with a heart of gold for taking care of his crazy brother.

2. Evil wins the war and Sam keeps Dean in a cage, with a collar and leash, possibly with a tattoo or brand. Sam may or may not transform him into something else.

3. Sam continues his transformation to a thing with uncontrollable rage and bloodlust. He tries so very hard to stop it, but can't completely, so Dean chooses to save him by becoming his whipping boy. Basically, instead of taking out his rage on the hapless and innocent masses, Sam takes it out on Dean. Since Dean is willing, Sam hasn't damned himself by torturing him and is saved.

4. Fairy princess, or something, turns Dean into a statue, but he is still aware. Being a statue may or may not be like sensory deprivation. Sam cannot save him before at least one year has passed. (Yes, I realize that would drive someone insane.)

5. Dean is turned into an animal, but stays that way for several years and doesn't belong to Sam.

6. Dean is turned into a dog while Sam is at Stanford and treks across the country to Sam, who always wanted a dog, but not one quite so raggedy.

7. Dean is on parole after being imprisoned for credit card fraud and goes to live with Sam who has the perfect normal life.

9. Dean kills Sam to stop him from going evil, unwittingly hastening him on to his evil destiny. Whoops. Sam is appropriately (disturbingly) thankful for Dean's assistance in reaching his evil destiny (and possibly finds his guilt nice too).

10. After the Striga, John realized that ten year olds don't make very good soldiers. He uses some ritual to turn Dean into a super soldier so that he could better protect Sam and bound him to John, so that Dean can't leave (obviously, John can leave him). Missouri may or may not have helped and this may be why they don't like each other. And if Sam finds out, he initially thinks that Dean is possessed or a changling or something, and wants his brother back.

11. Dean is a werewolf puppy that Gordon found and kept and used to hunt other things.

12. Dean is a not bad supernatural thing that they capture and use to draw out other supernatural things to kill and Sam feels really bad about it.

13. Dean was a girl but John thought a boy would be more useful in hunting.

14. Dean was the younger son, but Sam is still the one with the evil destiny and is well on his way to fulfilling it. What does he do with Dean to protect him from being killed in the war (reading these plot bunnies should give you some idea what I'm looking for)?

15. Dean dies and everyone, except Sam, can see Dean flirting with women and teasing Sam and mocking normal and swaggering around and everyone thinks that he's alive and Sam's ne'er to do well friend (Sam's a hot shot corporate lawyer at this point and no one would ever believe he once hung around people like that). Every time Sam goes to court, a judge will at least bang his gavel and shout at Dean or the prosecution will complain and Sam will wonder why they keep putting crazy judges on the bench or don't send lawyers who have mental breakdowns on sabbatical.

16. Sam uses his powers to make it so that he can live a normal life (as cover for establishing a power base for evil) and Dean is kept in Sam's basement in a straitjacket his personal assassin against other kids and demons who try to replace Sam, against the law enforcement agents who are trying to prove that Sam is a criminal, and against hunters.

17. One of the brothers goes dark side (one of them unsavably possessed, Dean finally driven over the edge to madness, Sam finally crosses over, it doesn't matter) and the other has to kill him. The other dies, either killed by someone or something else (perhaps a hunter that doesn't realize that he didn't side with the Dean brother, in a police shootout, a lackey of the dark side brother), by suicide, or fatally wounded in the battle with the evil brother. I want the mourners to surprise the outsiders (law enforcement showing up and shocking Hendrickson, women showing up and screwing with the profile on Dean, that kind of thing) and I do want them to be mourned, but with the understanding by those that loved them, that they could never have lived without the other.

18. Complete AU. Possibly breaking off shortly after the pilot or the pilot never happened. Dean spent time in jail. Sam has a career, wife, and kids, and insists on raising them normal. Dean is on parole when a mysterious fire kills all but Sam's daughter. I imagine her to be old enough to remember them, possibly even a teenager. Realizing the demon is back, Dean grabs her and goes on the road. Of course, now he is wanted for kidnapping and suspected of arson and murder. What happens when the law catches up to them?

19. Dean's year from the demon is up and he dies. Sam is determined to get him back, but how do you get a soul back from a powerful demon? You become more powerful. Obviously this involves becoming evil. What will Dean think of this when Sam gets him back and how will Sam handle returned Dean?

Yes. I am also working on the ones given me in the meme. More are welcome.

No. I don't know what is wrong with me.
