I visited my Mum yesterday. I hadn't been to visit her for a couple of weeks due to myself and Little D being a bit under the weather, so I was worried about passing anything on. Both of us were good to go in this time. Also, my Dad called to say he was snowed in in Livingston so wouldn't make it through, all the more reason to make it along on the day I'm with Little D.
The last time I visited she was looking good, but rather frail and nervous and seemed 'old', so I wasn't sure what to expect this time. However, it was amazing because this time she seemed very nearly right back to being herself again. Nearly, because I feel a hint of a childlike persona from her behaviour. Oh, and she's mobile - she's insisting on pushing herself around in her wheelchair. She doesn't like staying in one place for long, she feels she needs to move around. So we toured the hospital hallways on the visit.
She was great with Little D. He misses Granny. She told him she's looking forward to getting well enough again so she can come visit him and take him around the Botanic Gardens. At one point I sat down for a bit to drink some water, and they went off around the ward together. I kept an eye and ear out in case I was needed. It was great to see them doing things together.
I just got a text message from my Dad, he took her out in the car for the first time today!
