I suppose I've oftentimes wondered what would have become of me if I hadn't left Baron when I did, if I'd continued to walk the path of pillaging and wrongdoing. I would never betray you. Not like that. I don't think I could bring myself to do such a thing. [At his action of placing his hands over her own, she looks to them before looking at Cecil.] It wouldn't be right to just not forgive you. It was not your intention to hurt me in any way, and I know that.

[Still, it's quiet when she speaks next:] I forgive you, Cecil.

I know you wouldn't. I would never suspect you of something so foolish. [Though he hadn't earned, nor did he deserve her forgiveness, hers was the one he greedily hungered for most. [This was better than him calling her terrible names, or doing even worse things to her. It didn't take her long to put her arms around him in return, as well as return his kiss to her. Definitely better than before.]
