The first chords of "Greendale of Where I Belong" play during Annie and Jeff's conversation where she asks him to do her a favour and help Pierce with his stepdaughter in Basic Genealogy!
Oooh, it happens during both of their conversations! I never caught this on my previous viewings of the episode! Musical foreshadowing for how important

I didn't even notice it playing underneath their two conversations the first couple times I watched it, but noticing it makes everything feel more profound since my mind was bombarded with everything up to S5 between them and I just went "OH."]
Haha don't you love when songs do that? (Also it hit you just like Annie hit Jeff :P).
[By the way, I really hope that S6 features "Greendale Is Where I Belong" during one of their interactions somewhere!]
Yes, definitely!! Especially if it's another kiss!!
[And in fact, it was thinking over this song in combination with seeing well, erm REALISING Annie's hatred for Greendale in S1 (and Jeff's as well) that made me want to explore it in a meta because Jeff and Annie both start off hating Greendale and being forced to be there, but by S5, as Annie says, "You love Greendale."
And when she's saying that to Jeff, she's speaking for herself as well, making that moment 10x more meaningful that it originally was. (!!!)]
Yes, they both love Greendale. Because how could they not-- look at what it gave them :).

Haha, oh man yes hehe. That reminds me I still need to send you my Jeff/Annie playlist via gmail since it might be easier for you to open it from there via your own google doc on your computer....

I agree! Also, I need to rewatch S5 again and see if I catch it at all - over at Reddit people have complained that the lack of music in S5 is kinda a letdown if only becaus Community has great music and because a lot of us, I think, are wanting to hear "Greendale Is Where I Belong" again.

Yes, let's look at what Greendale gave them - a sense of stability, a family that they never anticipated they could ever have (though for some reason Jeff and Britta are both completely oblivious about what they got out of Greendale in Basic Story because both are dummies when it comes to recognising the importance of the platonic emotional relationships in a family setting that they've found) and last but not least, each other . :)

Yes :). I just love that song, and all the music in the show, really.

Which makes sense for Jeff at least, who is probably just as out of his depths in friendship/familial love as he is in romantic love (which I just realized). Britta, if she has been an outcast her whole life, probably doesn't know how to recognize platonic love too (but she obviously does for Abed and the others).
