Things I learned today:

  • I have no idea what I would like to do, though getting a degree in library science or interior design sound like fun...and a waste of time, because my attention span is about thislong.
  • Yakuza in jail apparently shove pearls up their urethra.(Courtesy of Seldom Asked Questions about Japan)
  • I have the same blood type (and apparently personality) as Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha) and Naoko Takeuchi (Sailormoon), my two major childhood influences.
  • I have a phone interview with a Taiwanese buxiban (eikaiwa equiv).
  • All else fails, I'll go to our house in Cape Cod, fix up the house, and learn how to drive there.
  • I've become ruthless in revising and editing. I have no attachment to my writing anymore, which is sad.
  • Trying to figure out whether a page drawn left to right can still have a left bleed and right gutter gives me a headache trying to visualize it.
  • I am the least of all my friends. I heard back from the gorgeous and snarky Caroline, my best friend back in my ISB days, and she's wrapping up her Masters in Modern History this month. A part of me is amused that she so dearly loves history and has since I've known her, and a part of me feels downright inferior.
  • I can visualize sex between characters, but can neither draw it nor write it well enough to not be ridiculous.

My aunt came to dinner today --my mom invited her, I guess. Anyhoo, my mom always cooks, yet my aunt felt it necessary to pick up a few things to bring to the meal --fishball soup from a vendor, potstickers from the vendor around the corner, sweet and sour soup from another vendor --one serving each. I was offended by her decision, because A) my mom invited her to dinner, and was cooking, and B) the bought foods were all cheap, single servings from streethawkers. It just...screamed tacky to me.

It's been an interesting day, I suppose.
