God bless Adobe CS2. I'm in LOVE. Yes, so I'm totally bad and only delivered 5 out of the 10 icons I'd promised for yesterday, but to be fair I have no idea what I'm doing and it's driving me nuts, from fonts to spacing to layout.
So I took a little break between the 5 I completed and doing my readings (I currently have the attention span for dense writing like a 5 year old --AKA not happening), and played with Illustrator CS2. I'm going to say this: I am seriously tempted to take my mom up on the Mac offer, and shamelessly beg for an Education version of CS2. Here's why:
First came the scan of the notebook. Yes, I do this in class. All. The. Time.
Then I opened it in Illustrator and used Live Trace and Live Paint to get this, which is positively lovely and I enjoy the smooth chunkiness of the lines greatly:
Which I then cleaned up to get rid of the sad attempt at Al in the corner to get this:
And then being the master procrastinator that I am, I went and did a slapdash job of coloring it here:
But yes, I am in LOVE with the Creative Suite version 2. *whines*
I also have permission to try and see if my Wacom tablet will work in the labs. Which means I may be able to work entirely on a lovely Mac. *squee*
'Course, I'd have to bring in my pattern files as well...
