(no subject)
Back from break! I spent the past week at Joelle's house, which was relaxing. Did a lot of shopping, though --my bank's pretty much broken until I get my paycheck tomorrow. But lots of new underwear and slacks and jeans, all very vitally needed so I don't feel quite so bad. The DVDs, though...the Suncoast at the mall we went to had a 'going out of business' sale; I got the third IY movie for $12. Eeee!!! They were even selling the shelves, fixtures, and walls of the store, as well as those damned beeping merchandise detectors at the entryway. Didn't buy the metal palm tree columns, but I did blow a small fortune on DVDs.
I read From Beirut to Jerusalem, which was actually very well written and helped clarify (for me, at least) the insanity that is the Middle East and the ongoing animosity of Israelis and Palestinians. So thanks to ash_grey_sky for recommending it to me; it's going to prove useful to my colloquium, I believe. I also finished Little Boy Lost and Othello, and am partway through three other books. Hopefully I'll be ready come next Monday.
This next week, I am busy. I will be crazy busy, moreso than normal because now I need to focus. Bah. Wish me luck and pie and all sorts of good things.
And....Put in a service request for the shower drain once more. *sigh*
